Do customers have a right to know if AI is used in a game? No.
Is it good business to give customers information they feel is important in making a purchasing decision? Absolutely.
This is how Valve keeps winning.
Make customers happy. Make money.
Tim Sweeney is criticizing Valve again over Steam’s requirement for developers to disclose their use of generative AI.
The Epic Games CEO called the policy “abhorrent,” arguing that developers are being forced to make a “political statement” that could be used against them by a “hate mob.”
Sweeney has been criticizing the policy since 2025, previously comparing the disclosure to a “Scarlet Letter” and arguing that AI will eventually be part of almost every game production process.

Not out of loyalty, but because he needs them not to testify.
Then he tries to make $20 billion on the way out, while calling the affordability crisis a hoax.
Here’s the paradox: as he gets worse, he becomes less powerful, and that makes him more dangerous.

TIME Magazine has released the full, unedited transcript of its interview with Trump alongside its cover story I put in the comments. I had to take several breaks to get through it, it's bad, really bad, because it's our President. If you've ever visited a loved one in a Memory Care facility you'd know the residents can give hours long dissertations without saying anything of substance, long strings of filterless free association that could lead anywhere. While Trump has always been a narcissist and a con man, he was also an effective communicator, you can't pull a successful con without that skill. What we see in this interview seems to be truly disturbing and we need to face it together as a nation and do something about it. Please take the time to read.
