Deadline looming for when non-taxable trusts need to be registered by. Don't forget this also includes Trusts set up by a Will when somebody dies including Life Interest Trusts.
Non-taxable trusts created before 6th Oct 2020 need to be registered with HMRC on the Trust Registration Service by 1st Sept. Trusts created after this date must register within 90 days of being created or becoming registerable, or by 1 Sept. Read more: sfe.legal/Members/Non-menu-p…

There are strict rules for signing LPAs. If not signed correctly you risk the OPG rejecting the documents when sent for registration. Contact us if you would like help with making your LPA.
When you make a lasting power of attorney you must sign and witness everything in person.
You can't do this over Skype, Microsoft Teams, Facetime or any other virtual means.

Did you know, when you make and sign a lasting power of attorney you should use a black pen?
An LPA must also be signed in a specific order, and it can’t be witnessed digitally.

We often come across clients in later life with assets over the #IHT band and good incomes that they are saving. But for every extra pound they save, they only save 60p; i.e, their eventual #Beneficiaries will be giving 40p to HMRC in IHT!
