Friday's Saraswati Puja reminded me of a childhood favorite verse - a magnificent composition by Mahakavi Kalidasa. Each of the 4 lines starts with the same word repeated twice with 2 meanings!
And it's a very noble prayer everyone on social media should ponder!
शारदा शारदाम्भोजवदना वदनाम्बुजे।
सर्वदा सर्वदास्माकं सन्निधिं सन्निधिं क्रियात्॥
śāradā śāradāmbhojavadanā vadanāmbuje |
sarvadā sarvadāsmākaṁ sannidhiṁ sannidhiṁ kriyāt ||
Meaning: May the autumn-lotus-faced Ma Saraswati, who bestows everything, always make her manifestation in the lotus of our speech a great treasure [for others].
In other words, may we speak softly, elegantly and wisely, with Ma Saraswati Herself manifesting in our speech, and may our words be a great treasure for people around us.
Wow, what an amazingly noble thought!
A prayer worth pondering on as we engage with others, especially on social media. 🙏
BTW, in Ma Saraswati's iconography, the lotus she sits on is our speech. The swan in the background is our purity and wisdom. The veena (stringed instrument) she plays is the skill and purpose in our words. She is Vaagdevi (speech personified as a goddess).

We'll be spending a lot more time trying to understand the outputs of language models. A few thoughts, tips & tricks:
Writing. Something I've had success with: Ask your LLM to explain something in ASD-STE100, it's a controlled language specification originally developed for aerospace maintenance documentation. LLMs well-versed in this language and it comes with heavy constraints on clean writing style that I often find a lot more readable. Sometimes I've tried to soften it a bit e.g. ask for "80% of the way to ASD-STE100" because the spec is quite stringent. But even better:
Diagrams / images. Instead of writing, ask your LLM to create a diagram. These can be a lot easier to process, parse, and understand. But even better:
Web pages. Ask for output "in HTML" to get a beautiful, interactive webpage. LLMs are getting really good at frontend and can create beautiful experiences, animations, etc. But even better:
Explainer videos. The output format I am most bullish on is fully custom / bespoke explainer videos generated on any arbitrary topic. Experiment with things like "Create a 3b1b style video explainer on X. Use my ElevenLabs API key for audio narration". (you'd need an API key for the latter or you can ask your LLM to find you decent free alternatives that use your local compute). This is actually starting to work!
In summary:
- As LLMs get better, they will do more and more of the legwork autonomously, and a lot more of our work will rise up the abstractions into oversight and understanding.
- Luckily, LLMs can help here too because as intelligence and code are increasingly abundant, you can ask for large, custom, discardable software artifacts (e.g. web apps, video explainers) that would have never made sense to create before. Push the boundaries here and you'll be surprised.

Built to help learners think—not simply provide answers—the AI Tutor uses a nudge-and-hint approach to guide independent problem-solving.
The beta launch on 30 September will make it accessible to learners across India via NDLI.

For a sadhaka …. never crave validation.
Never crave any attention.
Learn to live in solitude.
Crave Guru tattwa, but never crave status of a Guru, in my humble opinion, it’s one of the most boring things to do in life.
Instead relax and do sadhana.
You have to impress the Devata , nobody else.
Impress the Devata, that will make your mental makeup stronger and you will learn to experience the Divine within.
Baki external duniya is crumbling as you all see what’s happening in the world today.
Learn to understand the crumbling of the world is the Shakti of the Great Goddess Bhairavi!
Meditate and understand the Shakti which preserves the sadhaka.
In midst of it, you have to learn what’s important and what is not.
Keep calm do sadhana and chill out. Devata is going to look after the sadhaka even after Mrtyu.
Learn to hold sankalpa of sadhana for periods of time, extend the time.
Hamare main, Mrtyu comma hain, full stop nahi.
