For Trump, it's genius. For Witkoff, a humanitarian act. Musk loses sleep over russian soldiers. Meanwhile, a russian soldiers kills two civilians fleeing under a white flag. Their dog dies too. And this is the terrorist state the Trump administration is whitewashing.

You genuinely cannot comprehend the unimaginable evil that is Russia. I have a hard time even evaluating the people who live there are normal humans anymore. There is no amount of propaganda that can turn normal people into this.

POV: You were born to a country wiped from maps, whose freedom was long considered a lost cause by much of the world, and you grow up to see your country assume the Presidency of the United Nations Security Council (starting midnight tonight). Congratulations all Latvians for your long journey here. Now more than ever, we need world leadership that stands up for international law, a better rules-based order, peace through strength, and the sovereignty of all nations.

The pro-Russia crowd are now simultaneously criticising Ukraine for being Western proxies and also for not obeying Western orders. 🤷‍♂️ Similarly with the Baltics, they can never make their mind up about whether we are puppets of Washington/Brussels/NATO or leading them all into confrontation with Moscow. Huh. It’s as if everyone has agency and smaller countries are willing to always stand firm on their support for a rules-based world.

Data are being verified. The Defence Forces of Ukraine are systematically destroying the enemy's personnel, weapons, military equipment and support assets. This degrades its offensive capabilities, hampers the replenishment of resources and the sustainment of its troops, and reduces russia's ability to continue its armed aggression against Ukraine. Join the Defence Forces of Ukraine to protect your family and, together, bring a just and lasting peace closer. Glory to Ukraine!

The stand off around Poland’s Constitutional Tribunal is about restoring rule of law to an institution which had been politicised by the populist government which lost power in the election of 2023. Its president repeatedly broke the law by steering politically sensitive cases to hand-picked judges. It failed to pass its own budget,

For nearly 5 years, Ukraine has been going through the hardest times in its history, fighting an existential war for survival. For over 4.5 years, you have stood with UNITED24, back to back — through every hardship that came our way. Thank you for that. For every campaign we’ve aced together. For every drone you’ve fundraised. For every home, school and hospital you’ve contributed towards rebuilding. For every life you’ve helped save. Thank you for letting us know we can count on you. Always. For becoming our true friends. Ones we shall never forget. Thank you for standing with Ukraine. Do know that we’ll be forever grateful for that. To each and every single one of you. With love and infinite gratitude. Yours truly💙💛

🏒 The decision by the Court of Arbitration in Sport (CAS) to allow Russia back to international hockey is an own goal by the International Ice Hockey Federation, IIHF. Instead of, from the very outset, clearly declaring the prime reason to ban Russia from IIHF events, the world governing body gave lame and shallow reasons like “safety and well-being of players, officials, fans, volunteers and all participants.” For reasons that are difficult to understand, the IIHF were hesitant to give the real motives to keep Russia out; the unprovoked aggression of a sovereign nation, daily murder of innocent civilians and the most horrific war crimes on European soil since WWII. And the IIHF could see it coming. In June this year, the IIHF’s own (!) disciplinary board informed the IIHF Council (Board) that the council’s reasons to ban Russia could not be maintained in its current form. To put it simply, safety and well-being of participants is not a good enough reason to ban a nation. It can be reason #5 but not the main reason. It is important to understand how CAS works. The court’s job is to determine whether a federation’s own regulations are reasonable and if the federation follows its own rules. The IIHF has had five years following the Russian aggression to adjust their statutes to reflect the current situation in Ukraine, to be something like this: “The IIHF prohibits participation of nations that indulge in unprovoked wars of aggression, where innocent civilians and sports facilities are targeted and where civilians are murdered indiscriminately. A ban from participating is relevant particularly to nations where the political power and the country’s ice hockey authorities are intertwined and where the war enjoys full support from such authorities.” When reading CAS’ ruling from today, it is obvious that it is the IIHF that bears the responsibility. CAS states clearly that the reasons (safety, etc) as presented by the IIHF were not enough. What is even more embarrassing for the IIHF is that CAS, in the same press release, writes that it had dismissed similar Russian appeals - from the Russian Curling Federation - because of the World Curling Federation citing in their case that “the reintroduction of Russian athletes would present significant challenges to the integrity of the competitions.” So, in hockey, the Russian appeal was upheld. In curling it was dismissed. Difference? How you present your case. There is no question that it is the IIHF Council, with the former president Luc Tardif, that bears responsibility for the IIHF’s inability to properly present its case. And I personally pointed that out to Tardif some three years ago when we spoke at length about the Russian issue at the Champions Hockey League final in Luleå, Sweden. 🥅 The CAS decision does not automatically mean that Russia will take part. Countries like Sweden, Finland and Czechia should notify the IIHF that if Russia plays, we are out. The IIHF World Championship can do without Russia, sportively and commercially. But without the money from Swedish, Finnish and Czech television, there is no event.

To my MAGA friends: Enjoy this weekend. Seriously. After Tuesday, your movement is finished. That feeling of powerlessness you remember? It’s coming back. And you’ll spend years looking back at this moment, furious that you had power—and flushed it down Trump’s golden toilet. Never to return

A strong decision by the U.S. State Department – authorizing Ukraine’s purchase of Patriot interceptors to counter Russian ballistic missiles. Five hundred PAC-3 interceptors is a substantial number, and very soon – this winter – they COULD make for a highly effective defense package. However, it has been stipulated that deliveries may begin ONLY IN A FEW YEARS. We are asking our American partners to find a solution for the time when there is a real danger and a real need to use PAC-3 interceptors. Right now, the Russians are attacking our energy infrastructure every single day. In just these past two weeks of October, there have already been more than 30 Russian strikes on critical parts of our power grid. It is right now, even before the beginning of winter, that Putin has started carrying out his operation to attack the systems that sustain life in our cities and communities. The targets are electricity, heating, water supplies, bridges, and life in our cities in general. We did ask our American partners to provide Ukraine with a winter support package – at a rate of 100 Patriot interceptors per month. Five hundred missiles would be enough to protect our skies over the coming months – precisely when it is so important for Ukraine to be in a strong position in negotiations and for Russia NOT to succeed in breaking life in Ukrainian cities and communities. The United States, our European partners, and other partners around the world have sufficient stocks of PAC-3 interceptors in their warehouses. Providing them to Ukraine right now – in the winter of 2026–2027 – and replenishing our partners’ arsenals LATER, in THE FOLLOWING YEARS, through this production already contracted and paid for by Ukraine and our partners would be the right approach. And it is entirely feasible. We are grateful to President Trump. Importantly, we recently discussed PAC-3 interceptors with Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Ukraine is grateful to the U.S. State Department and the U.S. Administration overall for granting this authorization. But we are asking for decisions that can guarantee the protection of lives not the day after tomorrow or sometime later, but at the very moment the threat is there – when Russia is killing and destroying. I thank everyone who stands with Ukraine! state.gov/releases/bureau-of…

Today there was an important briefing on the results of our deep strikes in September and October. I am grateful to all our warriors for their precision and for consistently and effectively enforcing Ukraine's long-range sanctions. Every Russian strike on our cities and communities always gets our fully justified response. Russian facilities along a line stretching from Yamal to Western Siberia are now within range of our deep strikes, and we are working to ensure that our drones and missiles can reach even more distant parts of Russian territory. We have set key priorities for the further use of Ukraine's long-range capabilities. Our deep-strike units will also be expanded, drawing on the capabilities of the Security Service of Ukraine, particularly its Alpha Special Operations Center, as well as our intelligence agencies and other components of Ukraine's Defense Forces. Ukraine's long-range strike capabilities are one of the real guarantees of our independence now, during this war, and they will remain one of our long-term security guarantees after it ends. We are building up our strength. Today I also spoke with the manufacturers of these weapons. Glory to Ukraine!

Ukraine is taking another important step towards accountability for the crime of aggression. President @ZelenskyyUA has submitted to the @verkhovna_rada an @MFA_Ukraine-drafted bill on Ukraine’s accession to the Enlarged Partial Agreement on the Management Committee of the Special Tribunal — the third legal pillar of its framework. We count on the swift completion of Ukraine’s internal accession procedures and urge our international partners to finalise theirs without delay so that the Special Tribunal can become operational in 2027. Those who decided to launch Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine and continue to direct it must face accountability. Making the Special Tribunal operational in 2027 will bring that accountability closer.

Every day Russian strikes hit our energy infrastructure, causing extensive damage. Russia’s operation against our power generation, energy grids and interconnectors continues. It launched 17 ballistic missiles last night, some of which struck our oil refining infrastructure in Kremenchuk. The Russians have not taken a single step toward energy de-escalation. We will act accordingly and justly.

One day after a Russian drone killed 14 people waiting for a train in Dnipro, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov landed in Atlanta for the G20 meeting hosted by Marco Rubio. Several European diplomats objected to being photographed alongside Lavrov and threatened to walk out, forcing the U.S. to scrap the traditional group photo. Absolutely disgusting
