My mobile diving game Bluelife is now officially out!
I started working on this when I was 13🫢 I don't like to leave projects unfinished... So, this had to be done!
Bluelife got me started with game development. Since then I've released a lot of stuff, but I've quietly kept working on this.
Certainly blinded by nostalgia, but I think it's pretty fun. You can give it a try, it's entirely free. #Construct3
Found sth new that Opus 5.5 couldn’t do on its own.
The goal was building a responsive drawer component (with all the nice stuff like interruptible animations, stretching, velocity-based speed, background fade based on the drawer’s y offset..) in Svelte 5.
I’d either get something that works, but completely ignores Svelte and goes all-in on manual DOM manipulation, or something that uses Svelte directives and Svelte transitions but doesn’t work right.
When I told it to use Svelte properly and fix all the issues, it went back to an ugly raw JS version and put it into a Svelte attach.
Genuinely couldn’t get any further with prompting there, and went on to write this manually. Quite surprising.
I reworked OpenGuessr's duel matchmaking.
Now, the system starts by searching for players in a narrow Elo range close to you, and expands that range over time.
The more players are online, the slower it expands.
What's pretty cool is that you can always manually adjust this range.
For example, a 1200 Elo player can choose to only match against 1100-1300, or open up to the full range.
Since 2.5 Flash support is supposedly ending in 3 days, I'm really searching for a replacement now for Bugspot (my bug report pre-processor).
Tried using Haiku 5.5 and it's decently fast to respond (significantly faster than Luna) but it's not performing well.
It lets every feature request through, even if I explicitly highlight to reject feature requests in the prompt.
Gemini 3.5 Flash Lite does this much better. It's also the fastest of the three. It's also the most quirky though, and doesn't always 100% stick to my bug report template, but it's much better at report classification.
Spotr, the Street View photography party game, is out now! Who can snap the best spot?
Super fun to play in groups, with many categories (cars, architecture, scenery..) and locations to pick from.
Feels like going sightseeing from the comfort of your home :-)

Stoked to announce that the new OpenGuessr main menu is now available!
It's a big shift in how players experience the game, and I really hope you'll enjoy it.
Anthropic focusing on making Opus' responses more readable and jargon-free again is great to see.
My biggest pain point with Opus 5 was that it just couldn't get you a straightforward answer.
I hope we‘ll soon see LLMs that treat every line of code as a liability, instead of trying to "impress" the user with extra fluff they didn’t ask for.
It feels like we are regressing here and the difference in length between human-written code vs. generated code that achieves the same thing is often comically large.
And while things have improved there, LLMs are still not good at cleaning up their failed experiments, leaving behind what they "like" rather than what’s needed to fulfill the task.
My passion-project "forever in the making" diving game Bluelife is now available on Google Play :-)
...still waiting for iOS approval to make proper announcements. But if you want to give it a try already, I'd really appreciate it:

I started this 7 years ago, so some aspects of it are definitely a little weird. There are some design decisions I made early on that I regret a bit today😅
But I think it's in good shape to be released.
I’ve done a lot of polishing lately, fixed some longstanding issues, and the game is now faithful to the original vision.
