Just watched Aberfan, 60 years on. Nothing changes. Government still looking after the 1% and fk the rest. Grenfell is a perfect example. When war inevitably comes I hope the 1% are sharpening they bayonets cause 99% have fk all to defend!!!
The consultation leans towards 4.75% for houses & 5% for flats, rates taken from a 2007 court case, this lower lower rate means a bigger bill for leaseholders. @FreeLeasehlders are calling for 9%, which would substantially cut costs & be a more honest reflection of market rates.

When will London or Manchester burn? Or are Brits just too used to being exploited and left poor that they'll passively allow it to continue???

BBC News - Companies exploiting welfare system by using residents as 'cash cows', how many more housing / rental systems will people design just to rob people of their money and dignity??? BBC finds bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cm62…

Anyone who defends leasehold is either a landowner, or they don't understand how nasty it is or is just fkg stupid. Blaming people for buying leasehold when there's nothing else to buy is not a choice. We're just lambs to the slaughter but we're literally leaseholders to the ATM

The problem in every country is the same For the last 50 years the billionaires have demanded ever higher profits Their profits are now so high the Government can't afford basic services But those billionaires bribe Politicians So the Government won't take action against them

Good!!! For the simple reason government NEED to sort it! 1000's of flats being built that no one who now understands leasehold wants
Two leasehold flats in the same building. Image one, sold in 2017, £350,000, just a 1 bed. Image two, £315,000, FOR A 2 BED, nearly 10 years later. 10% cheaper than a 1 bed sold for 10 years prior - leasehold is in free fall.

Innocent leaseholders still pay for a building safety crisis caused by others, including MHCLG. Labour's Remediation Bill is weak. Why are developers exempt from new penalties? We need independent oversight, clear safety standards and accountability. Report by @Lees_Martina ⬇️

Exactly!!!
What happened starting in 1980? Mass Privatisation. So instead of your wages being decided by what your Government could afford and what you earned, you are paid as little as possible to maximise profit.

Utter bollox!
If you are on £25,000 salary per year, £700 of your taxes goes to the NHS annually If you are earning £40,000 £1,650 of your taxes goes to the NHS annually If you are earning £75,000 £4,500 goes to the NHS annually Private healthcare would be far cheaper for ALL of us. Imagine not seeing a doctor this year but you’ve paid over £2,000 towards the NHS…. Imagine not getting a doctor’s appointment yet you are paying thousands of your taxes into a service which can’t see you. I think we should scrap the NHS and create a much smaller organisation which ONLY assists 🔹Those above 60 🔹New Mothers 🔹children up to 18 🔹Long term disabled Everyone else can pay for private healthcare Premium private healthcare is cheaper. Those who are on low income can pay a discounted private healthcare which will still be cheaper than what we are throwing at the NHS. Stop worshiping the NHS which is a black hole of wastage.

That's good news for the world if that fat, flabby orange fkr croaks it!!!
White House lawyers say midterm stress puts Trump's health at risk...

And they never actually own what they think they've bought, if it's a flat!!!
1/ Homes are being built in London and the South East that nobody can afford to buy. I've spent the past year marketing new-build schemes to institutional investors. Here's why so many are stuck.

Pennycook is an elusive slimy toad and is not on the side of leaseholders! Burnham needs to shuffle the pack and move him on
Pennycook seems swayed by Big Money, with his reverse class chip. I warned people, and then he blocked me on here. He wouldn’t dare do the same to corporate lobbyists, of course. No idea what Burnham, who wants to take on the vested interests, sees in him.

Treachery with a smile on its face. @mtpennycook in opposition: “... there should be a guiding principle that, yes, it has to balance a number of considerations, but chief among them must be reducing premiums for leaseholders to their lowest possible level.” Pennycook in government: “... it is not intended to use prescribed rates in and of themselves, as a means of further reducing premiums for leaseholders.” Don’t let him and the leasehold mafia win! Respond to the government’s rigged but vital consultation before the Wednesday night deadline. Use our briefing to help you respond: freeleaseholders.org.uk/our-… Or face lease extension and freehold purchase staying a total rip-off and out of reach.
