Happy Opening Day—and Canada Day—to this national treasure.

Last July a wildfire swept through the town of Jasper and crept onto Jasper Park Lodge GC. Stanley Thompson’s iconic course will reopen for its centennial season July 1, with some repairs (including the rejuvenation of bunkers and greens) continuing through the summer.

Sod going down, sand in the bunkers at Richmond C.C., Vancouver, following restoration of A.V. Macan’s brilliant design at the 5th hole. Thanks to @OCGolfDesign + @ConditionsAtRCC and his staff for the assist!

Instead of pushing for a higher green speeds, courses and golfers should want the 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 speed for the architecture and skill level of the players.

Nice write up here from Wes about the new 19th @Golf_Inglewood.

Writing today about one of the most picturesque Par-3s in Calgary — the new 19th hole at Inglewood. This 142-yard beauty plays alongside the Bow River, and you might spot a bald eagle perched in the ghost tree on the right. The eye-pleasing addition opens to play tomorrow.

With just a brief window to bring greens out of long, harsh winters, a club has fine-tuned a custom cover system that shields turf from the elements without creating anoxic conditions. Here’s how it works: bit.ly/3xwPTb6.

That’s a wrap - a quick stop on our way home from @LethbridgeCC at @Golf_Inglewood to repair damages to the green as a result of a few interested deer this fall. This marks the end of an incredibly summer for @OCGolfDesign - now time to catch up on design work for next year!

My dad was diagnosed with MS in 2012. It was tough for him - no biking, skiing, running, hiking would be in his future. We still get to play golf, it’s different than it used to be, but damn it’s still good. Get outside this weekend, have fun, no excuses!
