This is so very true!
You can walk into a Catholic church almost anywhere on earth and know exactly where you are.
You could be in Rome, Poland, Kenya, Mexico, the Philippines, or sitting in a nearly empty parish in Chester County on a Tuesday morning. You may not understand a word being spoken, but you will still recognize the Mass. You will know when to stand, when to kneel, what is happening at the altar, and why everyone came.
That alone is incredible. But then you remember what it took for the Mass to survive.
It was offered in catacombs when Christians had to hide. It was offered in prison camps, during wars, in Irish homes when the faith was persecuted, and in underground churches where being caught could cost people everything. Priests risked their lives to celebrate it. Catholics risked theirs just to be there.
Kings died. Empires collapsed. Borders changed. Whole countries disappeared.
The Mass continued.
And now I get to walk into my church on an ordinary weekday morning and step into the same worship Catholics have carried across centuries.
That is what gets me.
Catholicism is not tied to one country, one culture, one preacher, or one generation. The Church is bigger than all of that.
You can cross an ocean, walk through the doors of a Catholic church, and still know exactly where you are.
Home.
Pat Shannon was quite possibly the nicest person in the @westminsterpa Class of 1990! Also a pretty darn good TE!

“Bad luck”??? Over 20% of all @Pirates games played this year have resulted in blown saves!
"Some of it is going to be internal. Trades will happen at some point and there is a good chance nothing picks up until after the MLB Draft (in 2 weeks)" Meaning it could be a couple of weeks before they would acquire a new pitcher

I always got “do we have to look at space?” No brokers though!
Happy Birthday @MarkDuclos_

I worked 30+ years to get rid of my “yinzer” accent but now it is time to celebrate it! @SIORglobal you likely heard me drop an “up ere” (up there) in a couple of my stage discussions!!
Pennsylvania is blessed to have these two level headed senators representing our great state!
Like my friend @SenFettermanPA said, we need a better way to disagree.
Hateful political rhetoric is dangerous and can fuel violence in our communities. At the end of the day, we’re all neighbors. Let’s turn down the temperature and disagree respectfully.
Looking forward to the future of Pittsburgh under the leadership of Corey. I can’t remember being this bullish on @Pittsburgh!
