More rat neurons.
Get early access to our model: app.tbc.co/
Did you know you can learn interesting things from computations in real rat neurons? I love what @AlexKsendzovsky and team are doing at @BioComputingCo are doing.

this is just the beginning…
Nerd alert: AI models built on rat brain neurons—which are placed on multi-electrode silicon arrays, respond to electrical signals, get translated into code, and are then used to train models—are that much closer to reality. As in, they're now available through AWS wired.com/story/ai-models-bu…

We went inside a lab where nature is teaching AI to be more efficient.
"In The Field" premieres Thursday at 1pm PT on Twitch with @BioComputingCo. You're not going to want to miss this one.

Our new demo is here. Minecraft, but make it neural.
This is the first proof that real neurons can make AI better, faster and cheaper. Try it and tell us how your run went: bit.ly/44VTG3y
Excited to share our new preprint!
How do animals transform internal representations into step-by-step navigation to goals? Decoding these strategies directly from behavior is challenging because these internal states are not directly observable.

Thank you to my PI Jorge Palop, our collaborators and especially Shreya Bangera who was pivotal to the development of this project. Be on the lookout for her PhD program applications, as any program would be lucky to have her!

Today in @NatureBiotech, we report engineered DNA recombinases with up to 53% integration efficiency and 97% genome-wide specificity at an endogenous human locus, inserting large DNA cargoes up to 12 kb for stable expression in primary human T cells, stem cells, and non-dividing cells

🧵In new work, we report a systematic engineering roadmap to optimize large serine recombinases (LSRs) for direct, site-specific insertion into the human genome 🧬. We achieved over 50% insertion efficiency and 97% genome-wide specificity, a 10X improvement over our previous work

Just shared at @KeystoneSymp a new @ArcInstitute discovery of the bridge RNA recombinase mechanism: a new class of natural RNA-guided systems that retains the key property of programmability from RNAi and CRISPR while enabling large-scale genome design beyond RNA and DNA cuts

Our paper “Microglia Gi-dependent dynamics regulate brain network hyperexcitabilty” is now online @NatureNeuro! By genetic inhibition of #microglia brain surveillance & directed motility, we found that microglia dynamics prevent hypersynchrony & seizures.
