A few days ago, our printern Kat accidentally stumbled into the workshop of @GlasgowPress while out and about - but what a glorious discovery!
It's always a pleasure to visit other #letterpress workshops in Scotland, especially when they have a Columbian as beautiful as this one!
Behold ... the Frankstein forme!
Printing with wood type is hard. But we got there.
Join us in Dundee on 9 May to find out more about the Mysteries of the Printing Press! #letterpress eventbrite.co.uk/e/the-myste…
The Pathfoot Press interns had a blast yesterday, learning the fundamentals of book binding under the supervision of the wonderful Marion Archibald from The Old Printing Works. Needless to say we are addicted. And look how shiny!
Many thanks, @ScotsAntiquary, for organising
A long overdue update on our activities this autumn semester and looking forward to some exciting new projects in 2024! pathfootpress.com/2023/12/06… #letterpress #bookhistory
Kick starting 2023 with these gorgeous sunny photos of our Columbian press taken by one of the undergraduate students last semester! Featuring the student's forme and print still in the press.
One of our interns made these creative Christmas cards on our Columbian press. Great work!
Happy holidays to all. ❄️
@ScotsAntiquary let me print cards at the @PathfootPress this year, and I'm right chuffed with how they came out! If you look closely at the picture of the batman card you'll see some evidence of what I call a "bonk shadow" which is the result of me being a poor printer! 🦇⛪
What is that?! One of our interns printed a small piece as a keepsake to accompany a personal Christmas gift of concert tickets at the Laeiszhalle (@elbphilharmonie) in Hamburg.
Classical music meets #letterpress printing - clearly, we are ready for Christmas!
Exciting progress in the project our interns have been working on! We're all set up, we've checked for and fixed our typos, and we are ready to get printing!
Featuring our very smiley lead printer @ScotsAntiquary
We're not dead yet! (Our director @ScotsAntiquary is just very bad at handling social media without any interns). The press is moving rooms in Pathfoot and will reopen later this month! #letterpress
Our lead graphic designer, @HistoriansDesk , is exhibiting work from the Crail Press, her own independent letterpress workshop, at the East Neuk Open Studios Winter Showcase, 16-17 November, in Pittenweem Parish Church Hall. Not to be missed! eastneukopenstudios.org/arti… #letterpress

Taking advantage of the summer lull to do a bit of interior decorating! Particularly pleased with our recent acquisition of a slightly pre-loved reproduction of one of William Caslon's early specimen sheets. #letterpress
Thank to our new @StirUni plates, we're feeling very on-brand in the pressroom this morning! #letterpress
These must be the first @StirUni letterpress plates to be made in quite a few decades. Can't wait to use them! #letterpress
Join us for a festive Press Open Day on Wednesday, 12 December, 1.30-3.30pm - we'll be making Christmas cards! tinyurl.com/ybjqcawd #letterpress
