The GOP is pushing to ban abortion nationwide… …while simultaneously proposing drastic cuts to food programs like WIC that help pregnant women, infants & children. As my friend Barney Frank likes to say: clearly Republicans believe life begins at conception—and ends at birth.

We lost him too soon.
Born on this day in 1943, Arthur Ashe was the first Black man to win men’s singles at #Wimbledon , #USOpen, and #AustralianOpen. He was a humanitarian and a pioneer. His legacy continues.

I remember that moment. As a young girl, it was a big deal.
50 years ago, on June 21, 1973, nearly 60 women tennis players met at the Gloucester Hotel. We formed what today is known as the @WTA. It was our moment of truth. What we accomplished then created the foundation of women's sports today. #WTA50 #JustStarting

This US Signal Corps photo from WWII includes 24 of the 1st contingent of Black nurses assigned to the European Theater of Operations. In 1944, 63 Black nurses joined the 168th Station Hospital in England; others served in Australia, Liberia, Burma, New Guinea, & the Philippines.

I miss him so much!
Can't get a ticket for Elland Road. First season in years. So I decided to go to Castellon instead. To see an old friend.

To all of the people calling to defund PBS and NPR, here are some facts: - NPR receives approximately 0.6% of their funding from federal grants. The vast majority of their funding comes from corporate sponsors, and donations. - Fox News has saved millions of dollars through dodging US taxes by opening shell companies in the Cayman Islands and elsewhere. - Tesla, SpaceX and Solar City all receive substantially more in government funding than NPR.

I am cheering them in on!
San Diego State walks it off and with that, now 38 years and counting, the 1985 Villanova Wildcats are still the lowest seeded team to ever win a national championship.

I will miss you! Thank you for all your reporting!
Today is MY last day with ⁦@NPR⁩ after 41 years! I want to thank the most curious, attentive and loyal listeners a reporter could ever hope for and who traveled alongside me on a long, wild ride. Arrivederci!!!

Thank you to Land Rover for sponsoring you!
I just want to take a moment to thank @LandRoverUSA for, once again, getting me (and my precious cargo😜) around Europe safely and reliably in my #RangeRover Sport this season. Appreciate your support so much!🙏

Some little girl will look at this never knowing a life where 3 Black women on national tv speaking about women’s sports isn’t a possibility. And I love that. This is what we mean when we say “Representation matters.” 🫶🏾#BlackGirlMagic
