Absolutely delighted to share that I have been awarded an #ERCStG! In maxSYMize, we will explore how plants regulate carbon allocation to beneficial mycorrhizal fungi, and whether we can optimize carbon delivery for enhanced symbiotic benefits. @plantsci @Cambridge_Uni

We hope everyone attending #NoCaSS2024 has a fantastic time 🌟👏 a superb event and line-up of speakers, organised by an incredible, hard-working committee
Almost kicking-off the Norwich and Cambridge Science Symposium 2024 #NoCaSS2024. Looking forward to some nice time, early-career-focused “sciencing” 😁.

"It's just infinitely complex. There are multiple plant species and multiple fungal species engaging in symbiosis and trading at the same time."

Huge congratulations to Uta Paszkowski and Chai Haa Chiu @PaszkowskiLab @CropSciCentre - both part of the @NovoNordiskFond supported AEGIS grant, just awarded for research into climate resilient crops.

Climate change poses a critical threat to biodiversity and agricultural productivity. By learning from the past, we can foster more sustainable food systems. This is why the Novo Nordisk Foundation, in partnership with @wellcometrust , has committed up to DKK 585 million to the Ancient Environmental Genomics Initiative for Sustainability (AEGIS). This pioneering project, led by evolutionary geneticist Professor Eske Willerslev, will leverage environmental DNA (eDNA) to explore ancient ecosystems and species adaptations to help develop climate-resilient food systems.

Check out our new study published in Current Biology through collaboration with the Giles Oldroyd group. We discovered chitin signaling is essential for AMF symbiosis and, for the first time, identified a higher order LysM-RLK mutant that blocks AMF colonization in M. truncatula.
