Thomas Aquinas compared Jesus' humanity to a tool in a master's hands. A tool genuinely does something of its own. For example, a brush really spreads paint. However, the painting comes from the artist employing the brush. In the same way, Jesus' human actions are truly His own, and His divine nature works through them to bring about one result.
