By this logic, I can sell Ferraris for $10 as long as taxpayers pay the other $399,990. Problem solved. Thatās the economics behind ā30% below retail.ā
The price doesnāt disappear. It just gets transferred to taxpayers, who also get the privilege of paying for Mamdaniās grocery stores, the staff, the electricity, the maintenance, and everything else.
Meanwhile, local grocery stores and bodegas get to compete with a government store that never has to earn a profit.

Why did it take Senator Chuck Grassley to find this new information about Thomas Crooks? Is he the only person in DC with any investigative powers? The FBI was told by the Crooks' family that an "anonymous donor" paid for the cremation. It's been more than two years. Why has that donor not been identified and questioned? Who was it, what was his/her motivation? What evidence was destroyed?

We made it to July 4. Then we realized that declaring independence and actually winning it are two different things.

So, are you following all this?
Kids will no longer need to pass five Regents exams, but they will need to take (though not pass) four newly created state assessments covering the same subjects as the Regents: English, math, science, and social studies.
PLUS, students must demonstrate that theyāve acquired the six attributes of a āPortrait of a Graduateā:
1. Academically Prepared
2. A Creative Innovator
3. A Critical Thinker
4. An Effective Communicator
5. A Global Citizen
6. Reflective and Future-Focused
Local districts like NYC Public Schools are charged with coming up with ways to assess these traits (good luck). For students to develop these attributes, teachers and principals will need to first develop curricula, projects, and assignments for students to complete in grades 9ā11. Oh, this is supposed to take effect in the next school year 2027-28.
No wonder advocacy group EdTrust-New York is asking to @NYSED to pause its plans entirely!

This week, I asked my students a simple question:
Were you ever taught about 9/11 and al-Qaeda?
Many told me they had participated in 9/11 remembrance ceremonies in school. They learned that the attacks happened, but they had never actually been taught about the events leading up to September 11, who al-Qaeda was, why America was attacked, or what followed.
Think about that for minute. We spent more than 20 years at war following the attacks of 9/11, it changed our entire way of life, yet an entire generation of Americans can graduate from school w/o ever understanding who we were fighting, why we were fighting them, or how we got there.
Itās important to remember and honor the nearly 3,000 that died that day, more than 9,400 who have since died from 9/11-related illnesses, and thousands of soldiers KIA and those who came back w/life altering injuries.
Thatās exactly why 9/11 needs to be more than just a once a year ceremony.
If we want future generations to understand 9/11, we have to teach them the history behind it, including the rise of al-Qaeda, the ideology that motivated the attacks, the warnings and attacks that came before September 11, what we sacrificed in the name of security, and the wars that followed.
To me, there is a pre-9/11 America and a post-9/11 America.
Sadly, the generations born after 9/11 will never truly know what pre-9/11 America was like. But they should at least understand what changed, why it changed, and the price we paid.
āNever Forgetā should also mean never stop teaching what happened and why.

āNo. Incentivizing government dependency isnāt āgreatā for families. Dependency is one of the tools the left has used for the past 100 years to destroy the family. Pay people to stay home with their kids? This is NOT conservative. When did it become conservative to start a huge new welfare program? Iām 100% in support of stay at home Moms. This is how my kids were raised (thank God). but as a conservative, I donāt think the government should pay them.
