In 2016, a woman (age 54 at the time) contacted us who was living without her left temporal lobe. She didn't know about her missing temp. lobe until age 25. She never experienced any head trauma/injury, so the temp. lobe was likely lost as a result of pre/perinatal stroke. 1/n

Yes I agree: I also witnessed same behaviour when working with Scarlett.
I've definitely observed this behaviour before - they're incredible! In my case bees were able to push an object off of a table to get to sugar water underneath... I would have been sad to be outsmarted by bees if I wasn't so impressed by their adaptability to the situation.

We learn in school that a proton is a bundle of three elementary particles called quarks, but that simplistic picture glosses over a far stranger, as-yet-unresolved story. quantamagazine.org/protons-a…

My new book that comes out soon is about insect lifestyles. Just because insects are small most people people tend to think they're simple. In this book, I showcase some of their remarkable lives, illustrating just how deliciously complex and endlessly fascinating they are.

Happy #NationalVelociraptorAwarenessDay! Be on the lookout for any #Velociraptors in your area. Also note that this not the proper way to hold a Velociraptor as I’m not wearing any protective arm coverings and the dromaeosaurid is in apparent distress. (1/2)
