Incase you missed it yesterday, an Israeli marketing firm used website ads to distribute spyware created by Israeli developer Candiru and all it took for it to infect people’s phone was visiting a website with the infected ads on it and then allowing the ad to load on the page. There are potentially hundreds of millions of people with Israeli spyware on their phones right now and they have no clue.

There are sounds you hear only once, but they stay with you forever. The voice of my friend Shadi from beneath the rubble is one of them. The place where Shadi and his family were staying was struck. Within moments, the house was reduced to rubble. But Shadi did not die immediately. He was alive beneath the debris. We could hear his moans. His voice came from between the stones and rubble, weak and exhausted, but it was enough for us to know that Shadi was still alive. Hours passed… And Shadi was still there. Imagine knowing that your friend is only a few meters away from you. You know he is alive. You can hear his voice. You know he is in pain. But you cannot reach him. I don’t know how anyone can describe that feeling. Every time we heard him, there was still hope that we might be able to get him out. But time kept passing. Hour after hour. And his voice grew weaker. Then… We heard nothing. Shadi’s voice disappeared from beneath the rubble. The silence that followed his moans was more painful than the moans themselves. We understood what had happened without anyone having to tell us. Shadi died beneath the rubble. His family died too. Sometimes I think about his final hours. What did he feel while trapped beneath his own home? Could he hear the voices of people outside? Was he waiting for a hand to reach him and pull him out from beneath the stones? Did he believe, every moment, that help was coming? I don’t know. And perhaps I never will. But I know one thing: I heard my friend’s voice while he was still alive… And then I heard the silence that followed. War does not leave you only with images of those who died. Sometimes, it leaves you with a sound. The sound of someone you love crying out from beneath the rubble, growing weaker and weaker until it disappears. Shadi is gone. His family is gone with him. But his voice has never left my memory. Even today, when I remember him, the first thing I remember is not the rubble… I remember his moans. 💔

I spoke about this a few days ago, but the truth is that I spent 10 days straight searching for a toilet for my family. After all that time, I finally found a used one. It was in very poor condition, but I had no other choice. This may seem like something insignificant to people living a normal life, but here, even a toilet has become something we have to search and struggle for. For life to reach this level of deprivation and humiliation, that alone should tell you how we are living.
Zionist authorities have now classified toilets as "dual use items", banning the entry of portable toilets and toilet seats into the Gaza Strip. Toilet seats join tarps, sleeping bags, wheelchairs, sewage pumps, and medical supplies among many other banned items.

I am currently supporting 22 members of my family. For a very long time, I haven’t asked for help; instead, I was trying to support many other families by sharing their campaigns on my page. But now, I am the one in need of help, as our circumstances are becoming increasingly difficult. I full-heartedly hope that you will support me and my family. Please, donate and share the campaign. chuffed.org/project/help-oma…

Believe me, if you lived with us in Gaza for just one day, you would spend the rest of your life kissing the walls of your home, crying over the blessing of your bed, and thanking God for a night when you don’t have to wait for death. 💔

What jumped out at me most today about the children we hosted at the Phoenix Library was their deep thirst for reading and listening to stories and tales. If anyone truly deserves to live and thrive, it is the brilliant children of Gaza, who have been deprived of every form of joy and play. I hope the world will look at our children just as it looks at its own—and view them through the eyes of compassion. At the Phoenix Library, I strive to create a sanctuary for every child in Gaza, and I hope our library reaches new heights so its message can touch every corner of the world.

Israel is committing a horrific massacre right now on Omar Al-Mukhtar Street; the martyr toll has reached 9 so far, killed by Israel in cold blood. How long will we remain in this state? How long will Israel continue to commit massacres against us and our children, and how long will the world remain silently watching? Are the scenes of bombing and blood no longer moving its feelings to act? Does it need even more cruel and bloody scenes? What must we write for you to move? Perhaps we ought to apologize to you for the harshness of the scenes you scroll past on your timelines; perhaps we ought to apologize to you for ruining your mood; and perhaps we ought to apologize to you for taking a few seconds of your time? It seems that, in the end, we will all be exterminated in silence, without crying out, and without anyone hearing us.

I found myself with responsibilities way bigger than me, and I’m just helpless here and completely clueless what to do. I just wish I could go back to being the spoiled girl who didn’t have to worry about anything at all.

A little while ago, I was walking through the streets of Gaza. It was very late at night, and what I saw today is something I will never be able to forget for the rest of my life. Entire families are sleeping on sidewalks and in the streets. Children and elderly people are lying on the ground because the small, overcrowded tents have become unbearable in this extreme heat. And rats are literally everywhere, moving between the tents, along the sidewalks, and through the streets. Is this really where human beings are supposed to live? Life in Gaza at night is far harsher than what the world sees during the day. There are things that don’t appear in photos and that cameras don’t capture. But I saw them with my own eyes tonight: people simply trying to find somewhere to sleep, surrounded by unbearable heat, rats, and conditions no human being should have to endure. Where is the world in all of this? When did this become so normal? I couldn’t bring myself to photograph them. I refused to do so out of respect for their dignity and humanity. I’m writing this post now at the depths of my sadness and despair, still unable to comprehend how the world can see entire families sleeping in the streets like this and then carry on as if nothing happened.

Good morning from inside a water desalination plant in Gaza. I am very proud of what our volunteer team is doing here. After being forced to stop for several days, we have resumed distributing water, and today we managed to distribute 5,000 liters of fresh water to this devastated area, where people have no access to water. So far, we have managed to send 18 water trucks to the camps. Our volunteer team is still providing aid here despite everything. The work is extremely exhausting and dangerous at the same time, but we continue working and reaching families who desperately need help. We need your support so that we can continue our projects here in the camps of Gaza.
The #18 water truck has departed for remote and isolated tent camps, carrying 5,000 liters of fresh drinking water. We are continuing to send out one water truck every day to the devastated and hardest hit areas. Please donate and share chuffed.org/project/165801

The world has no idea what it means to spend the summer inside a tent in Gaza. Don't imagine a camping tent or a temporary shelter. We're talking about nothing more than sheets of nylon and fabric that turn into sealed ovens every morning. The sun beats down on them for more than 12 straight hours, trapping the heat inside until the tent becomes almost impossible to endure. Temperatures inside can approach 50°C (122°F). There is no electricity, no fans, no air conditioning, and not even cold water to offer a moment of relief. When night falls, people are not only fleeing the bombing they are fleeing the tents themselves. Entire families sleep on sidewalks and roadsides because the street has become more merciful than the place that is supposed to shelter them. Imagine a point where the pavement is more bearable than your own "home." Children suffer the most. Their bodies burn from the relentless heat, insect bites cover their skin, sweat never dries, and sleep has become a battle they lose every single night. No human being deserves to live like this least of all a child who has known nothing but war, tents, and hunger. While the rest of the world enjoys summer vacations, beaches, and camping trips, summer in Gaza has become another season of slow suffering. And even now, not a single caravan is allowed in to provide thousands of families with the most basic protection and dignity. How much humiliation must people endure before the world decides that more than two million human beings should not be left to burn inside nylon tents, as if their lives are worth less than everyone else's?

One of the most terrifying realities we live with in Gaza one that almost no one in the world talks about is the presence of more than 100 military towers, each standing over 30 meters tall, surrounding the Gaza Strip from every direction. Each tower is equipped with an automated machine gun that fires remotely without a soldier standing behind it. It makes no distinction between a child, a woman, or an elderly person, nor between civilians and anyone else. It can open fire at any moment, turning the simple act of moving into a potential death sentence. These machine guns are capable of firing more than 6,000 rounds per minute, with a range of nearly 3,000 meters enough to cover most of the small area of Gaza where the population has been confined. We are not only living under bombardment; we are living under constant surveillance by machines that know neither mercy nor hesitation. Gaza has become completely exposed to these weapons, and fear follows us with every step. Even leaving to search for food or water can become your last journey. This is not science fiction. It is not a scene from a movie. This is the reality we live every single day in Gaza. We are literally living inside Squid Game.

Not satire: Israel is demanding that as part of the ceasefire agreement with Hamas, it be allowed to continue attacking Gaza.
🚨Israel has formally objected to three provisions in the Board of Peace approved roadmap for Gaza, including demands that would allow it to continue striking the territory, prevent Hamas’s collected weapons from remaining under the NCAG’s control, and exclude Qatar and Turkey from verifying compliance, Haaretz reported. 🔸 Continued Israeli attacks: Israel is demanding continued freedom to carry out strikes across Gaza even after the agreement takes effect. A source familiar with the matter told Haaretz that “Israel demands freedom to strike areas of the Gaza Strip.” The Associated Press separately reported Sunday that Israel was seeking continued freedom to strike and conduct military operations in Gaza under the agreement. 🔸 Control of collected weapons: Israel is also demanding that weapons surrendered by Hamas be destroyed. Under the roadmap reportedly approved by Hamas, the weapons would be collected but remain in the custody of the Board of Peace-backed National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, or NCAG. 🔸 Excluding Qatar and Turkey: Israel wants Qatar and Turkey barred from the verification mechanism that would determine whether each party has fulfilled its obligations before the roadmap moves to its next stage. The agreement calls for the Board of Peace to create an International Verification Committee expected to include representatives from mediator states. ➤ Israel conveyed the three objections Thursday to former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, a member of the organization’s Gaza Executive Board, according to a diplomatic official cited by Haaretz.

In Gaza, we have become nothing more than chess pieces being moved across a board of international interests. Decisions are made over our heads, while we are the ones paying the price every single day with our lives, our hunger, and our blood. Stop insulting our intelligence. Stop making empty statements and promises that do nothing to change our reality. If you cannot stop this nightmare, then open the crossings and let us leave. We are living through the worst days of our lives bombardment, starvation, siege, and the complete absence of hope for a dignified life. Stop treating millions of human beings as pawns in political games. We are human beings, not chess pieces.

Perhaps you will never truly comprehend what it means to be in a place and then leave it only a few minutes before it is bombed, unless you are in Gaza. You will never truly comprehend what it means for this to happen to you more than ten times, and perhaps you will never truly comprehend what it means to fear that fate will not grant you another chance next time, turning you into scattered remains. This fear of being torn into pieces chokes me, keeping me from sleep until it has become a relentless insomnia. What is the meaning of life? And was I supposed to have died the very first time I was saved by a decision I made to leave a place that was bombed five minutes later? Perhaps hell is not what they tell us about after death; perhaps what I am living right now is hell. And just because I was born in a geographic spot that was not of my choosing, am I obligated to endure all this pain? This thing they call my life is hell, sheer hell.

For over a thousand days, Israel continues to bomb us and eradicate us in the most atrocious ways—slaughtering, burning, and shelling us through every method of killing, right before your phone screens, while no one in this wretched world could stop them. The killing among us goes on; they took our land, killed us, tortured us, and humiliated us before your eyes. The bombing tonight is extremely harsh. When will this ever stop?

Perhaps this is what I realized at a time everyone could call 'ground zero.' In the midst of the genocide, I was crawling toward books to save them. I resisted with everything I had—my pen and my books—until I opened the first library during the genocide @phoenixlibrary1
They say books won’t change the world. Tell that to every colonizer who burned them. To every enslaved person who was punished for reading. Literacy is resistance. Literacy is liberation. The library is a battlefield.
