In 1385, an English knight set out to build a castle that could resist an enemy and impress a visitor.
Sir Edward Dallingridge surrounded Bodiam with water, crowned it with towers, and made its reflection part of the spectacle.
More than six centuries later, its military purpose has faded, but its power to impress remains.

Do you remember when kids leapfrogged over street bollards? Well how about this Leapfrogging Bollard off Kings Road at the side of the Duke of York Square, where you can find this playful bronze sculpture titled "My Children" by Allister Bowtell, showing a boy leapfrogging a bollard.
It memorializes the 19th-century Royal Military Asylum that once housed soldiers' orphans on the site (now the Saatchi Gallery).
