As a huge supporter of Restore Britain who sees it as the UK's last hope, I find this citizenship policy short-sighted. While I acknowledge my personal bias as an affected immigrant, I fear this move will alienate far more supporters than it attracts. I have a few thoughts/questions: 1. It penalizes committed, unmarried couples. If a native Briton and an immigrant prefer long-term cohabitation without state-sanctioned marriage, does the immigrant lose any path to citizenship? 2. It creates perverse incentives. The policy risks encouraging immigrants to manipulate or pressure reluctant partners into marriage solely to secure a passport. 3. Again, this is probably just my bias speaking but, the marriage loophole looks hypocritical. Carving out an exception only for marriage looks suspicious. It creates the damaging perception that the party wants a total ban, but made a convenient loophole to protect core members with foreign spouses—which will breed voter distrust. 4. It punishes genuine patriots. I entirely agree that citizenship has been handed out like candy for decades, creating thousands of unpatriotic passport-holders of convenience. However, a small minority of foreign-born residents are deeply loyal and contribute immensely. We shouldn't punish true patriots simply because they lack British ancestry. 5. Nationality requires assimilation, not just ancestry. If ancestry is the "hardware," then culture, language, and respect for British law are the "software." We must drastically reduce new citizenships, but we shouldn't stop them completely. If an immigrant can demonstrate complete assimilation to our way of life (the "software"), swears genuine allegiance, and adds significant value to the UK, the nation should welcome them as one of its own. 6. Despite my fundamental opposition to this single policy, I agree with the rest of their platform. Their policies are miles ahead of every other UK party. Because of this, I will still vote for Restore Britain in the next general election and continue urging my friends and family to do the same. As Thomas Sowell said, "There are no solutions, there are only trade-offs."

Anyone paying close attention to @RestoreBritain already knows that almost everything posted under Rupert’s name actually comes from Alistair. ​Alistair needs to realize he isn't the politician here, and he needs to stop pretending to be Rupert 24/7. A capable politician understands the job: uniting a broad coalition of people who share the same core political leaning, even if they disagree on the details. ​Instead, Alistair uses Rupert’s platform to fire off personal takes on literally everything, all the time. While broad political alignments are few—left, centre, right—individual opinions run into the thousands. When an account constantly wades into every minor squabble on the internet, it inevitably alienates people on its own side over petty differences. It breeds pointless division. ​To unite millions on the right, you have to stay focused on the bigger picture and steer clear of micro-debates unless they genuinely matter. ​@RestoreBritain isn't what is fracturing the political right.
