The last two weeks have been hard on @CCCMaraudersFB But sometimes you have to go through adversity to become who you need to be. Growth is rarely comfortable. The process isn't always peaceful or pretty, but it's necessary. Keep going. #BeStrong #MarauderRaid #TeamOverMe

Interesting fact: A high school football game has 48 minutes on the clock. But a study found the average play lasts just 5.6 seconds. At 130 plays, that’s roughly 12 minutes of actual action between BOTH teams. Months in the weight room. Summer heat. Film. Practice. All for opportunities measured in literal seconds. And you don’t know which 5.6 seconds will decide the game. That backside block you took off? The pursuit you cut short because somebody else would get him? That might’ve been it.

Sarasota County Sheriffs found Venice football coach John Peacock “directly linked” to a felony phone crime in a probable cause affidavit obtained by USA Today. Peacock has not been charged with a crime as State’s Attorney weighs evidence. STORY: heraldtribune.com/story/spor…

Man, I absolutely loved this. Props to the Titans media. And respect to Saleh for going in depth. The learning is one of the coolest parts of doing this.
Hands down one of the best exchanges between reporters and an NFL head coach I’ve ever seen, featuring Titans HC Robert Saleh and the local media. What started as a simple question about the complexities of Saleh’s zone defense and why there might be some early growing pains turned into nearly seven minutes of incredible insight. Saleh explains why the system takes time to learn but can eventually produce top-five defenses. He breaks down how players learn to attack offenses by understanding what they’re trying to do to them, rather than simply dropping to a spot and defending grass. He also dives into the evolution of his defensive philosophy, drawing from his experiences around Pete Carroll’s Cover 3/Legion of Boom system, Vic Fangio, Monte Kiffin and others. He discusses the key positions that make the system work, his overall philosophy on defense and so much more. I’ve heard DeMeco Ryans speak glowingly about Robert Saleh, how brilliant he is and how instrumental he was in DeMeco’s development as a coach. But I don’t think I fully appreciated what he meant until watching this. Just an incredibly bright defensive mind. And what makes this especially fascinating from a Texans perspective is that DeMeco is essentially building and running a variation of that same defensive philosophy, with some of his own wrinkles. It’s particularly relevant right now given Houston’s struggles with defensive communication and executing its coverage rules. Saleh provides some excellent perspective on why these systems can be so difficult to master, how players eventually develop a deeper understanding of what offenses are attacking, and why that understanding allows them to play faster and more aggressively. Must watch.

A kid that still isn’t talked about enough… @BarrettKhayse can play multiple positions, brings toughness every time he steps on the field and has done nothing but produce against some of the best competition in the state. A college program is going to get a steal.

Not the @Buccaneers refusing to let me remove 2 of my 8 season tickets for NEXT YEAR. Apparently the deadline was 3 months ago— for NEXT YEAR. Makes a ton of sense. God forbid someone moves out of state lol. What an absolutely stupid rule. CHARTER MEMBERS TOO!!!

These high school Barstool accounts are out of control. Most are run by students that do not have the guts to put the pads on and actually make a difference in the game. To those of you that hide behind that keyboard calling out opposing players or communities, you're just a coward. Some of you talked A LOT this past week, GOT YOUR ASSES KICKED and then deleted your account. Dont worry. Those teams you talked trash too kept those receipts.
