Had a dream last night that involved an evil cake and I remember thinking "we've gone from 'the cake is a lie' to 'the cake is a liar.'"
"It's time for dramatic action" - lists things that literally can't happen without player approval.
Some of this is fine. Turner needs his CF glove. Arozarena should be here next year, cost be damned. Give Miller, Escobar and Rincon legit shots at middle infield spots next year.
These Phillies can’t get it done. It’s time for dramatic action. Column, unlocked and free to read. nytimes.com/athletic/7651175…

Would actually be hilarious if the team to dethrone the Dodgers is the baseball equivalent an anthropomorphic Four Loko that also happens to be sanctioned by the pope.
Please take 60 seconds out of your day to watch this Mike Vasil interview. You will not be disappointed.

Had a great time seeing Olivia Rodrigo last night, it's insane how much energy and showmanship she has. Young punk band energy.
Only sad part was there were SO MANY girls there in Obsessed outfits and she didn't play it. Felt bad for em (and me, it's my favorite song of hers)

imo it's not a great sign that there are now multiple towns where the stalk-your-ex-girlfriend cameras have shown up and nobody can figure out who owns them
New: A Florida county discovered Flock cameras along its roads that officials didn’t know were there.
No one has publicly claimed them. Who has operated them — and who has had access to their data — remains a mystery.

capital punishment has generally been banned in "civilized" countries but retains its dark attractions in some states of the US that align more or less with evangelical Christianity. not sure why that is so: if you believe in Hell, you should believe that Hell, which is eternal, will be a sufficient punishment for a murderer.
the problem with capital punishment is, to make a highly complex issue short, its irrevocable nature: many convicted persons whose cases are taken up by the Innocence Project & Centurian Ministries has been found to be wrongly convicted & released. but execution is irrevocable.
another problem is that well-to-do defendants hire excellent defense lawyers, & may not only receive sentences far more mild than death but manage to be found "not guilty." would guess that this particular individual did not have the luxury of a first-rate lawyer.

I met him at a park down in Atlanta
Where the fans are racist
And the sponsors are Coca-Cola
C-o-l-a Cola
I saw the right hander sitting there on the bench
I asked him his name and in a Cajun voice
He said Nola
N-o-l-a Nola
No-no-no-no Nola

I love Miller's entrance, it's tough to rate older stuff because there's only music. I'd probably put this at #5, the main issue is the song is ass.
1. Hoffman
2. Rivera
3. Diaz
4. Duran
5. Miller
6. Bautista
7. Papelbon (BOS)

Story of the playoff Phillies, every single year:
Starting pitchers: amazing.
Everybody else: completely forgets how to play baseball.
