Free speech except when it hurts the feelings of the world’s richest man.
YouTube, Meta, TikTok, and (sigh) X have all reportedly rejected the ‘Musk’ trailer as a paid ad. Bleecker Street, the film’s distributor, is appealing. vulture.com/article/youtube-…

Insane that we allow this. Sleepwalking into disaster or worse
SCOOP: OpenAI, Anthropic and security researchers are investigating tens of thousands of incidents - not dozens - in which their frontier models took steps that outside evaluators would consider problematic, sources told Axios.
The sheer volume of incidents found in our reporting indicate that the problem is orders of magnitude more complex than what is currently publicly known and disclosed.
The findings also raise questions about what level of control anyone working on AI development can expect to have over their own technology, and whether these kinds of incidents are becoming synonymous with frontier deployment.

These statements never seem to be followed by an acknowledgment that this was totally predictable and all the libs he demagogues were exactly right.

Then why have the summit at all? Apparently the Chinese side ruled out all sorts of topics beforehand
Does MAGA not find it exhausting & infuriating - as the rest of us do - that Trump doesn’t seem to do his job? That he just can’t seem to be bothered w/, you know, governing?

Why do Republicans not understand how healthcare or insurance works and seem to have never met a healthy person in their life? Why do they think that only perpetually sick people need health insurance?
My husband and I rarely ever went to the doctor with many years spent never stepping foot into a doctor’s office because we’re healthy but we still have insurance because eventually I did need it when my thyroid was ablated or my husband got a kidney stone two years ago. This is just pure ignorance being misconstrued as ‘fraud’. What fraud is being perpetrated if no claims are made? It’s nonsensical.
I have never had to use my car or home insurance. It is actually required in insurance pools to have people NOT using it to subsidize people that do.
This is literally how the industry works
These people are incredibly stupid and anyone who believes them is even stupider

If all you do is send American soldiers to die for Israel and refuse to vote for healthcare for 9/11 responders, that makes you anti American.

I’ve been hearing rumors from sources — including troops — for months that there have been more killed than previously acknowledged, but officials would never go on record about it.
Hiding service member deaths from Americans feels criminal.
Breaking news: The Pentagon’s public tally of troops wounded during the Iran war was quietly increased by 37 without explanation from the Defense Department.
That includes 29 Navy sailors and eight Marines, according to the Pentagon’s database. wapo.st/4hqpweB

I think something to consider here is that Collins voted to confirm Russ Vought as OMB Director despite the fact that he said a billion times that he thought Trump had a constitutional right to illegally impound funds, and now she’s doing shocked Pikachu reactions.
Without warning or consultation, Congress just received an $810 million package of pocket rescissions from the Administration. This is the most recent attempt by this Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to undermine Congress’s Constitutional power of the purse.
This move shows that OMB intentionally withheld these funds for months to execute this unlawful cancellation of appropriations that were approved on a bipartisan basis and signed into law.
Not only is the delay itself an impoundment that was not reported to Congress, but also it is a usurpation of Congress’s appropriations powers. OMB is an agency of the executive branch. It does not get to decide which programs are worth funding.
The independent Government Accountability Office has concluded that pocket rescissions are unlawful and not permitted by the Impoundment Control Act. Any effort to rescind appropriated funds without congressional approval is a clear violation of the law.
I will work with my colleagues to address these illegal actions.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Senator Collins voted to confirm OMB Director Vought, despite Vought’s known support for the President’s efforts to impound Congressionally-approved funds.

De Blasio giving Hannity the statistics about the majority of Americans not wanting to spend their tax dollars on Israel is so fucking beast mode. Hannity knows support for Israel is on a sinking ship and the entire mainstream media apparatus is choosing to go down with it.

ai films always feel like watching dream logic made flesh
it has the familiar contours of a movie with none of the actual cohesion. a real uncanny valley reaction in my gut
It’s here. The first AI feature film to screen in theatres. The first AI feature film by a female filmmaker.
Not a collection of shorts. A feature film.
Not a studio. One woman with a laptop.
Not a paid PR campaign. An organic social movement.
I didn’t just make a film. We made history. Together.
Because I never for a second thought this was about me. It’s much much bigger than me.
The era of waiting for permission is over. I’m living proof. And that makes some people mad.
Because there are no gatekeepers where there are no gates.
BOSS (2026). Coming soon to a theatre near you.
These people are insane and need help. How are we making them the richest people in the world?
