United Nations: Jordan’s King Abdullah II used his UN General Assembly address to sharply criticize Israel over Gaza, Judea and Samaria, and Syria. He accused the Israeli government of trying to erase Palestinian life and impose a new territorial reality in Gaza, while describing developments in Judea and Samaria as part of what he called a policy of forced displacement and a war crime. Abdullah also accused Israel of de facto annexation through settlement expansion and land seizures, and warned that Israel’s actions in southern Syria had become a regional threat, saying Jordan would protect its northern border and water security. These were allegations and characterizations made by the Jordanian monarch in his speech.
