In the face of a pandemic, the important work of fighting polio must continue! Rotary and its partners have mobilized disease-fighting infrastructure to respond to COVID-19 —while remaining dedicated to eradicating polio! We are so close 🤏 #polio #rotary #COVID19
Jonas Salk didn't profit from his discovery of a polio vaccine, as Salk explained to CBS' Edward R. Murrow on April 12, 1955, when he was asked, "Who owns the patent on this vaccine?" "Well, the people, I would say," Salk replied. "There is no patent. Could you patent the sun?"

Wore my orange shirt today, took time to find out why this matters. I was deeply moved. I shared with the @VolunteerMBC team the work before us to make sure history never repeats itself.

Today is #OrangeShirtDay, where we recognize the harm that residential schools inflicted on Indigenous communities and honour those impacted. We also join together in the spirit of reconciliation and commit to ensuring that Indigenous children matter. 🧡 #EveryChildMatters

Did you know? Palgrave was originally called Buckstown after Brian Dolan, nicknamed Barney or Buck. He managed the Western Hotel after it was built in 1846. In 1869, postal authorities renamed the community Palgrave.

Why did you join Rotary? "I really like living in Caledon and love the people living here. So once I was finished with being a local firefighter I thought that Rotary would also be a good experience and it could help the community." #palgrave #caledon #rotary
