I will never support an unfair labelling of my nation. I owe Sierra Leone that much. But recent reporting forces some hard questions. The Guardian now reports that the young men abducted in broad daylight in Freetown last October, well-known figures in the city, were killed by an alleged drug lord. A lot is now making sense. It would explain why @PoliceLeone never investigated. And when have we ever seen a drug lord seated in church, or anywhere else, with a president and senior government officials in proximity? That closeness alone gives the "narco-state" label credibility. Sierra Leone deserves answers, and the people who failed these families must be held to account.
