"If you see me or anyone else who appears to rarely crack under pressure and is laced with confidence, be aware that this is, to an extent, a front.
I struggle as much as anyone else.
Itโs only natural to be hurt or to want to say, โGive me a moment to myself.โ
Itโs also fine to feel like an imposter"

Time to tell a story...
End of last year?
Raised issues of patient safety and decisions made without discussing with primary care or those living with #Diabetes
Pointed out gaps in service, safety concerns
As night follows day?
Allegations and complaints made- designed to shut all raising of issues down.
Against one of the national leads in #Diabetes
Raising issues about what was designed & created by myself.
Rolled on to formal investigation.
Timeline from start? 8 months
Through personal grief- through all things.
Without much respite.
Yesterday? It ended- due to lack of proof- and no case to answer
Which was always the outcome - yet as ever?
It's the process that's designed to destroy.
Kept smiling - as I know the process well enough now.But heck-it's needed grit -especially since May
Am still here.
Still battling for better #Diabetes care
As I always say? You cannot shut me down.
H/T to @TheBMA for support
The next phase...is the next phase.
For better care of those living with #Diabetes?
There is very little I won't do.
And I haven't even mentioned the incredible bit about the difference in approach to others who have raised same issues- and coincidentally (of course) white.
Am still here.
Still here.

Hearing concerning reports that @NHSBSA / @nhs_pensions are *still* giving members misleading advice on Pension Savings Statements.
โ WRONG: โIf I donโt receive a statement by 6 October, I should assume I have not breached the threshold.โ
โ
RIGHT: Never assume that. Absence of a statement does not mean you are under the annual allowance.
NHSBSA has still not issued tens of thousands of RPSSs and overdue PSSs.
โ WRONG: โThere is no timeline for producing manual estimates.โ
โ
RIGHT: There is. The timeline is set out in statute.
โ WRONG: โWe will not take requests for that yearโs AA statements until after 6 October, so we can prioritise members who have breached.โ
โ
RIGHT: If you want the statement by 6 October, request it up to 3 months before that date (by 6 July). Wait until 6 October and you are running perilously close to the 31 January tax deadline.
For years my advice has been the same: high earners should request a statement every year, at least 3 months before the 6 October statutory deadline.
NHSBSA promised a self-service portal for this by 2020. It is entirely reasonable to request one annually so you can plan. You need the figures for carry-forward and SIPP headroom even if there is no charge. NHSBSA also does not know whether you are tapered.
Requesting one now will only produce a mid-December date โ six weeks before the end of the tax year, and after many accountants (including mine) want the information long before them to produce your return.
Wearing my BMA hat, I reminded NHSBSA senior leadership this week that โno timelineโ language is unacceptable when statute sets a deadline, and asked them to stop using it.
Use the free updated templates โ they calculate the statutory deadline for you:

If you are a medical graduate who HAS NOT yet come to the UK- and have done your medical degree abroad eg: India, Pakistan, Nigeria etc ?
Then I would seriously advise about thinking whether to pay @gmcuk your money for PLAB
If you do- please do so with clear understanding of what comes next.
Your chance of getting a speciality post is pretty low.
You may have to work for 2- maybe 5 years- (yet to be decided) when you are ready
That work will be doing what others don't want to do-in general- with low to nil opportunities of training and progression.
Anyone else suggesting so is mostly- lying.
I would ask @RCPhysicians @rcgp @AoMRC @gmcuk to clearly advertise that- rather than exploit for money
If you want to come to the UK for work as a doctor?
Do so fully informed.
NB:
The above is not the fault of local graduates- but squarely down to @NHSE_WTE making a mess of training and enough places- along with GMC for keeping PLAB running at full tilt- while also supporting lesser trained professionals doing roles & jobs of doctors.
The focus has been to reduce dependence of foreigners - yet doing so on the cheap- both financially and training wise- the impact of which falls on the population.

"At the show were also seven wholesalers selling chocolate bars, crisps, and sweets, one of which had a display stand full of bags of Walkers crisps, Lucozade, Mars bars, and Kit Kats, with a sign saying โPlease help yourself.โ Five ice cream firms were present, four soft drinks companies, and other suppliers that make items including pizzas and cake mixes and confectionery vending machines."

Fact - physios can be autonomous physiotherapists and practice within that physiotherapy scope of practice
Fact - the NHS is using this to dangerously extend the practice of physios and other AHPs to substitute for doctors
Autonomous physiotherapy is not medical practice and anyone claiming to do so is committing a crime under the 1983 Medical Act

Just a moment to say Thank you to the many who have had kindness and lovely words to share.
Social media isnโt all about hate and division
It can also be warm, kind and loving
The smile is a bit forced at the moment- yet with time, one hopes it will be back x
You grow up in the world of medicine admiring articles in the @bmj_latest

And then?
One day you are writing an obituary.
I hope I have done justice to honour this amazing woman- brave, strong, talented...and above all, kind and loving.
I donโt want anyone to know her via โassociationโ with Partha Kar
She was first and foremost Dr. Anannya Kar
And I hope this represents her as best as possible.
I thank many for the love, kindness, space and empathy shown over the last few months.
