One time I quit a job and I heard that my manger told a colleague who was concerned about it that "nobody is irreplaceable". It was a huge loser thing to say in that context, but if it's true about individuals it's definitely not true of thousands of individuals at once.
I once worked at a kids summer camp and the dude running it decided to fire two others working there. On Friday he told us he would deliver the news by calling all the people *not* being fired. I think because he was a coward?
