Drakes Pool near Crosshaven. Named after Sir Francis Drake who in 1589, having a small squadron, was chased into #Cork Harbour, by a fleet of Spaniards; he ran into #Crosshaven and moored his ships behind the shelter of Currabinny hill and was missed by the chasing Spanish fleet.
