I am instantly bearish on anyone that name drops pedigree to establish legitimacy. If you anchor your capability on a group identity, I’ll just assume you are the worst of your cohort. The worst financiers / lawyers / executives / techies I know are the ones that drop their Wall St / White Shoe / MBB / FAANG backgrounds on the first meeting. The best don’t draw legitimacy from their former colleagues.
