I have been debating whether to post this. Only a few people know.
I have been struggling with ILD, scarring in my lungs from deployment, and the issue has gotten worse. They did more scans. The last week of October, I was diagnosed with small-cell lung cancer, luckily at a limited stage. As I was already being treated for ILD, they caught it early before it could spread. Today I will be starting to receive radiation and chemotherapy; the treatment is radiation with three days of chemo, then a break, and repeating for a few months. Aka concurrent chemoradiotherapy.
Because it was caught so early, my prognosis is excellent. I will keep everyone posted, as I don't know how much posting I will be doing.
