The #IPU mourns the passing of @AnnClwyd, a longstanding IPU champion including as President of the IPU Committee on the #HumanRights of MPs. Her unwavering voice provided comfort to #MPs in danger worldwide and helped strengthen accountability for abuses wherever they occurred.

I was inspired by our parliamentary meeting at #HLPF2023. Although so much more to be done to reach #SDGs targets by 2030, we heard many examples of good parliamentary practice from #MPs around the world when it comes to delivering decent jobs, health and education for people.

At our @UN Headquarters in New York, we can feel the deteriorating air quality as smoke from the wildfires in Canada moves south.
With global temperatures on the rise, the need to urgently reduce wildfire risk is critical.
We must make peace with nature. We cannot give up.
