Let’s analyze the matter in an obvious and natural way First: I believe the vulnerability was deliberately introduced by one of PlayStation’s security engineers and programmers so that it could be exploited or sold I will tell you why I say that Explanation: The vulnerability and how it works: The attacker exploits PlayStation’s Family API connections The attacker creates a new fake (child) account to hack through The attacker sends a join request to the targeted victim’s account that they want to steal and hack (The request is automatically accepted without the victim’s permission!) The attacker enters the family account and displays all its members, or even creates a new family, and the victim is automatically added to it The victim’s full name is displayed The victim’s email address is displayed The victim’s PSN ID username is displayed The attacker exploits other vulnerabilities in the PSN Family system and makes purchases, whether paid or free, to obtain invoice numbers The attacker can also change the address of the victim’s main account, the family manager, through a child account! The attacker can permanently ban the account by changing the email address and taking over the victim’s entire account, then sending messages that violate PlayStation’s rules so that the account is deliberately banned! All these permissions are available to a child account in the PlayStation family system! Here is the other side of the story, from the victim’s perspective, who, by the way, is the family manager: When the victim is surprised to discover that there are numerous fake accounts, child accounts, in their PSN Family, they try to secure their personal account and attempt the following: Leave the family that they did not even create! Guess what? There is no option that allows them to leave the family at all! Delete those suspicious accounts (child accounts) There is no need to guess You know what I am really going to say It is truly hilarious, isn’t it? There is no option that allows the family manager to delete a (child) account that they did not even create! What is truly unbelievable is that there is no option that allows the family manager to change the email address associated with those suspicious accounts (child accounts) It simply cannot be done The only available option is to change the child account’s password, and even if the family manager tries to do that, they cannot, because the child account is inaccessible and has the attacker’s own two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled, leaving the account permanently stuck in the attacker’s hands All these permissions, which should supposedly belong to the family manager, have not been granted! This is extremely frustrating and raises concerns, suspicion, and serious doubts Was this vulnerability deliberately created by one of PlayStation’s engineers and programmers? This matter is extremely serious, and this vulnerability must be fixed immediately, as soon as possible The family manager must be granted all the permissions necessary to delete suspicious accounts (child accounts) This must be allowed immediately through a rapid update There must be an investigation into this vulnerability to determine its scope, how it was exploited, and who is responsible for developing the PSN Family system I believe that the person who developed it is sophisticated and has opened a backdoor in the PlayStation system, allowing all this massive breach to happen What is truly frustrating is that Sony and PlayStation are watching in silence They have not completely closed this vulnerability yet, and there are thousands, even millions, of accounts being stolen every day Some of these accounts have been banned because the attacker stole the accounts and sent messages that violate PlayStation’s rules to get the accounts banned if the owners tried to recover them!
