YOU CAN RUN, BUT YOU CAN'T HIDE...SOMETIMES, THERE REALLY IS SOMETHING UNDER THE BED. 🔎 Yesterday, PSLPD officers responded to a Port St. Lucie hotel on Village Parkway after it was reported that a wanted man, later identified as 41-year-old Kenneth Robert Ferow Il, was inside a hotel room. When officers arrived, Ferow's wife told them he was not there. Despite credible information that he was inside, she continued to deny his presence. Officers continued their investigation and were ultimately permitted to check the room. Their attention turned to the space beneath one of the beds. There, officers located Ferow hiding underneath the bed. Officers gave Ferow commands to come out with his hands visible, and he was taken into custody without incident. A search of Ferow resulted in the recovery of a substance that field-tested. positive for methamphetamine. Two children, ages 14 and 8, were also inside the room. Ferow was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, two counts of child neglect, and an outstanding Martin County warrant for simple battery. This is a great example of why our officers don't simply take an answer at face value. They observe, investigate, and follow the facts until they find the truth.

🔬 NATIONAL FORENSIC SCIENCE WEEK Long after the scene is secured, the work continues. Our Crime Scene investigators are responsible for finding, documenting, preserving, and processing the evidence that can help answer some of the most important questions in an investigation. Their work requires patience, precision, and an incredible attention to detail because sometimes the smallest piece of evidence can make the biggest difference. During National Forensic Science Week, we recognize the professionals behind the science. Their work may often happen outside of the spotlight, but the impact they have on our investigations is undeniable. To our PSLPD Crime Scene investigators, thank you for your professionalism, dedication, and commitment to seeking the facts and serving our community. 🧬🔍📸 The evidence speaks. 🚔 DUI ARREST | IMPAIRED DRIVING PUTS LIVES AT RISK On August 13, 2026, at approximately 7:23 a.m., PSLPD officers responded to a report of a possible impaired driver after a concerned motorist called 911 and reported a vehicle driving erratically, failing to maintain its lane, striking curbs, and nearly causing multiple crashes. The witness continued to safely provide updates to dispatch as the vehicle traveled to Manatee Academy K-8, where officers made contact with the driver, identified as Erin Pozner. Two elementary school-aged children were inside the vehicle. During the investigation, officers observed indicators of impairment and conducted Standardized Field Sobriety Tasks. Pozner was subsequently arrested. A Drug Recognition Expert also assisted with the investigation, and a blood sample was collected for further testing. Pozner was transported to the St. Lucie County Jail and charged with: • Two counts of DUI with a person under 18 in the vehicle — F.S.S. 316.193(4) • DUI / Driving Under the Influence — F.S.S. 316.193(1) As our community continues to grow, traffic safety remains a major focus for the Port St. Lucie Police Department. Our officers will continue conducting proactive traffic enforcement and responding to dangerous driving behaviors that place motorists, passengers, bicyclists, and pedestrians at risk. And as this case demonstrates, if you see a driver whose behavior leads you to believe they may be impaired, call 911 and provide dispatchers with as much information as safely possible. Drive safe. Drive sober. Help us keep Port St. Lucie roads safe for everyone.

🎓🚔 PSLPD GOES TO CITY UNIVERSITY! The Port St. Lucie Police Department is proud to be participating in the 2026 City University, giving residents a firsthand look at the people, training, technology, and teamwork behind the services we provide every day. Yesterday, Chief Leo Niemczyk kicked off PSLPD’s portion of the program with an engaging presentation about our department and our commitment to serving this community. Participants also heard from several specialized areas within PSLPD, including elements of our SWAT Team, K-9 Unit, and Crime Scene Investigations (CSI). The experience continues later this afternoon, as another group of City University participants gets the opportunity to meet members of our team, see specialized equipment up close, ask questions, and learn more about the many roles that work together to keep Port St. Lucie safe. City University is a free, nine-session program designed to give residents an inside look at how their City operates. We’re grateful for opportunities like this that allow us to open our doors, share what we do, and continue building strong relationships with the community we proudly serve.
