Big news! We were awarded $40.2M from the @ENERGY to power Project PULSE — upgrading our transmission grid across Western Washington. Combined with PSE investment, that's $80.4M to boost capacity & reliability for 153,000+ customers.
Replacing 7.5 miles of buried cable isn't exactly a walk in the park... especially when that park is the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest! 🏔️
Nearly a month ahead of schedule, PSE and @PotelcoNW crews completed a major project near Skykomish, (1/3)
replacing failing power cable that serves critical telecommunications and infrastructure customers. From navigating rugged terrain and solid rock to working within limited construction windows, the team tackled every challenge thrown their way (2/3)
Big energy savings are coming to First Lutheran Church in Poulsbo. 💡
PSE helped the church upgrade to heat pump water heaters and energy-efficient lighting fixtures through our Small Business Direct Install program. They expect to save more than 68,000 kWh annually!
We're making steady progress on a major reliability upgrade in Skagit & Whatcom counties. Crews are rebuilding & reconductoring approx. 25 miles of transmission & distribution lines between Bellingham & Sedro-Woolley, replacing aging infrastructure dating back to the 1960s. (1/2)
More than a decade in the making, this project includes replacing 60 electric poles and is on track for completion in 2027. Once complete, these upgrades will strengthen the electric system & help reduce outages for customers across the region. More: ms.spr.ly/6017aomQl (2/2)
👏 Shout-out to our PSE Troublemen for their outstanding work after a hydrogen tanker overturned near overhead power lines. They spent nearly 10 hours supporting recovery efforts, coordinating safety measures & helping protect first responders, the public and the electric system.

Stronger-than-forecast winds & trees with full foliage caused widespread outages, with Thurston County seeing the biggest impact. Crews are working to restore a transmission outage that impacted 3 substations, & are assessing damage & restoring power as stormy weather continues.
As we work to safely restore power, please remember:
- Never touch or go within 35 feet of a downed power line. Assume all downed wires are energized. Call PSE at 1-888-225-5773 or 911 to report them.
- Use flashlights instead of candles.
Crews are out in full force today to respond to outages caused by an early season storm. Pictured here, crews respond to downed power lines across I-5 between Maytown and Tumwater in Thurston County.
Wind and rain are expected Friday as an unseasonably strong weather system moves through the region. With trees and vegetation still fully leafed out, winds may bring branches and trees into power lines, potentially causing outages.
We understand how difficult it is to be without power. Our teams are ready to respond and crews will remain in the field to assess damage and restore power as long as it is safe. If your power goes out, we'll work around the clock to restore it as quickly and safely as possible.
We encourage customers to prepare, too:
- Charge cell phones and other essential devices.
- Make sure you have emergency supplies at home and in your vehicle.
- Have a battery-powered radio ready to go.
- Download the PSE mobile outage app.
