My boyhood hero & a simply fantastic keeper for England & Derby. A master of his craft with a brilliant all-round game. A model of consistency with incredible longevity at the very highest level. A true goalkeeping legend 👏🙌. I will never forget how much I idolised him as a boy
Wasn't it something along the lines of..... the cleaner your hair actually was. The more chance you had, of actually having nits? Or have I completely imagined that? 😂
My Mr Badger Quote of the Day is .....
'I think you must be feverish Toad. Cause destruction it may, render us homeless it may, but will a steam traction engine eat anybody?'
From the episode - The Monster of the Wild Wood.
Just now watching Clive Anderson on Sunday Brunch.
Other than a greying of his hair. He doesn't look much different than he did back then on Whose Line Is It Anyway? Was it really back in the 80s & 90s.
My Album of the Day is Revolver. Aside from Abbey Road, this is my favourite Beatles Album closely followed by Rubber Soul. Revolver truly is a work of art. My favourite tracks being ;
Taxman
She Said She Said
Doctor Robert
& And Your Bird Can Sing
Our history is full of tragedies like this.
No single person or thing being solely responsible. Rather it was a collection of small events coinciding at precisely the wrong time to create a tragedy.
25 October 1854: "Into the valley of Death
rode the six hundred"
At Balaclava during the Crimean War, around 670 men of the British Light Brigade charged directly towards Russian guns after a disastrous misunderstanding of orders.
They rode more than three-quarters of a mile under heavy fire. 118 men were killed, 127 wounded and around 60 taken prisoner. More than 300 horses were also killed.
The doomed charge was immortalised by Tennyson in The Charge of the Light Brigade.

My Description of the Day is from Mr Toad in Gadget Mad.
The Aspirator air suction cleansing device. Otherwise known as the hoover, from the 1900s. Designed to remove the need of a parlour maid. Yet still needs to be operated by someone 😂.
I usually read history/non-fiction books but I have dappled in fiction.
Oliver Twist, Great Expectations & The Pickwick Papers being most enjoyable.
My Mr Badger Quote of the Day is .....
'I wonder, what's going on? The stillest moment, comes before a storm'
From the episode - Gadget Mad.
My Album of the Day is this beautiful album from 2004. Incredibly powerful both musically & lyrically. It is a masterpiece & it is my favourite Corrs Album apart from Talk On Corners.
Stand Out Tracks -
Angel
Hideaway
Time Enough For Tears
Hum Drum
Confidence For Quiet
youtu.be/EPOIS5taqA8?si=i_8T…. My song choice today is from Kim Carnes. Fun fact - I believe that Bette Davis personally thanked Kim Carnes & the writers of this song. For making her cool again in the eyes of her grandchildren. This really makes me smile 😃. The true Power of Music
My Album of the Day is this sublime compilation album.
As good as Baker Street is. There is so much more to Gerry Rafferty than Baker Street. This Album is the perfect introduction to his extensive back catalogue.
Priscilla and I. Have just had lunch at a very busy cafe.
The stressed & clearly overworked cook, bless him. Described us & everyone else in the Cafe as the cast of Les Mis.
I'm not sure, whether that is a compliment or not 😂?
My Mr Badger Quote of the Day is ...
'Vanity will prove vexation'.
From the episode Toad, Photographer.
My Mr Badger Quote of the Day is ....
'Drink deep, or taste not the Pierian Spring'.
From the episode - Patient : Toad
As a drummer i chat in drumming chat groups.
Often, when someone says, but what you're playing, looks so simple.
Your ego's response is, but it is so much more complicated than that. But why do we have to complicate things, to keep our ego happy? Embrace simplicity.
This brings to mind the truly fascinating tv drama & book .... Longtitude. The determination of John Harrison to succeed is truly awe inspiring.
