On behalf of @PeelPolice, I extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Cst. Marc Pinizzotto of Toronto Police Service, who was tragically killed in the line of duty this morning.
For the second time this week, our policing community is grieving the loss of an officer who made the ultimate sacrifice. This is a reminder of the risks officers face every day to protect our communities, without hesitation and always with courage.
Our thoughts are with their loved ones, the members of @TorontoPolice, and all those across our service who knew Cst. Pinizzotto as they navigate this loss. We stand with you in grief, in solidarity, and in honour of a life dedicated to serving others.

It is with deep and profound sorrow that we announce and mourn the loss of PC Marc Pinizzotto, 43, of our Emergency Task Force, killed in the line of duty today.
Marc devoted 18 years to serving the people of Toronto, including 5 years with ETF. He was a courageous officer, a respected colleague, and a man who put others before himself.
Today, a police family has lost their loved one, and our Service has lost a brother. The grief is immeasurable.
Our hearts are with Marc’s family, his loved ones, and his ETF teammates. Our members will stand with them, now and always.

Along with our Uniform Divisions, we conduct tow blitzes to ensure compliance with legislation. An officer from 21 Division stopped this tow for driving 125 km in a 60 km zone

Our Safer Roads Team proactively attend street racing events to monitor for illegal activity & follow up with charges.
They observed this vehicle drifting near pedestrians & driving at high rates of speed.
The driver was later charged with Dangerous Operation & Stunt Driving.

It’s a time tested tradition here at @PeelPolice for the Deputy Chief’s to join officers throughout the seasonal RIDE campaign.
Tonight, Deputy Chief Lauren Jackson & Mark Dapat were out at a RIDE Checkpoint along side officers looking for impaired drivers.
We’re pleased to report that no impaired drivers were detected at this location.

After an intensive investigation, our Major Collision Bureau has arrested the suspect responsible for a fatal hit-and-run in Mississauga.
Peel Regional Police would like to thank the public for their collaboration and assistance in this investigation, which helped identify the suspect.

While @PRPRoadSafety was at Ridgeway plaza we saw this tow truck stunt driving 93 in a 50. Driver was unlicensed and has been charged under HTA and TSSEA. We are at community complaint areas everyday. If you drive dangerously we will charge you and impound your vehicle.
