Congratulations & best wishes to the 1031 junior doctors who commence their internships across NSW this week. This is the largest number of interns to start in NSW public hospitals to date, & includes 11 Aboriginal interns, & 145 interns for rural hospitals across the state.

Happy first day of internship! Remember no one really expects you to do anything tomorrow except turn up and be enthusiastic. If you write some of the ward round notes that’s a super bonus. Intern cheat sheet- ashleighwitt.com/2015/01/abo…

Good luck to the interns across Victoria who will be hitting the wards this week for their first day on the job as a doctor. If you feel like a bumbling fool at any point, then welcome to the club (it’s not a very exclusive club because we all feel that way). #MedTwitter

These are fatigue related errors I’ve seen, and I’ve made myself. What worries me isn’t so much the ones I’ve noticed, but those I haven’t... #resteddocs #medicalerror #hospitalhealthcheck smh.com.au/national/nsw/burn…

Burned-out junior doctors fear they'll accidentally harm patients

Almost two-thirds of junior doctors working in NSW hospitals are so exhausted they’re worried they’ll make a mistake that could potentially harm their patients or themselves, a survey has found.

I mean it! As an interstate student the experience was even more valuable; while the content is obviously not very different between states it was great to hear from state organisations like @AMA_NSW and @NswHeti as well as meet my future colleagues working with me next year :)
