Private property rights under attack again. The land back agenda has to he stopped.
Docs labeled “confidential” just 2 weeks before snap elxn show @bcndp has committed to hand over 400 parcels of Crown land to First Nations, and craft a law to limit compensation to forest companies for loss of logging rights.

That's what we hear from our members all the time.
That's why we should ask all public institutions, and publicly funded organizations to do away with it all.

I’ve heard firsthand from dozens of persons working in public institutions who are sick to death of land acknowledgements at work (and woke indoctrination, generally). And they all speak of their dozens of colleagues who’ve also had enough. But they all fear speaking out. This BC election might be their way of finally doing it. 🤷♀️
Thank you for covering our launch.
More to come!

Property rights in BC are under attack.
If government can create uncertainty around who owns your land today, what does that mean for your home tomorrow?

The land is beneath our homes, farms, businesses and infrastructure. Mortgages, investment, taxation and government revenues all depend on people being able to trust that a registered title is unassailable. But is it?
If Crown won’t uphold property title, what other promises will it break? northernbeat.ca/opinion/if-c…
British Columbia has more than 2.23 million assessed properties worth roughly $2.8 TRILLION.
That is an enormous store of household and business wealth.
And almost all of it rests on something most people rarely think about:
A functioning system of land title.

This is why BC’s current debate cannot be reduced to:
“Are you for reconciliation or against it?”
The harder question is:
How does Aboriginal title, Crown authority and registered fee-simple ownership coexist in a modern economy?
Respect for the indigenous people of BC cannot be allowed to transform into a complicated legal mess that puts our entire economy in jeopardy.

A good property system should pass a very simple test:
Can an ordinary person buy land, read the title, understand their rights and confidently know what they own?
If the answer becomes increasingly complicated, that is not merely a problem for lawyers.
It affects homeowners, lenders, builders, entrepreneurs and ultimately the prosperity of the entire province.
Secure title is one of the foundations on which a middle-class society is built.

Why do private property rights matter? It sounds abstract, and technical.
It is. But it is also deeply moral.
Fundamentally, it matters that when you "own" something, the law and the society knows what that even means.

Civilization advances as we have more and more sophisticated conceptions and treatment of property.
Monkeys can do well with grapes, cucumbers and rocks. Kids can understand toys and clothes. Advanced civilization manages deeds, titles, and contracts.
