Today, 25 years later, we join our partners and neighbors in honoring the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the countless lives forever changed.
We remember the courage, the sacrifice, and the heroes who answered the call.
We will never forget.
Today I had the opportunity to speak with a new class of Assistant District Attorneys at Broad & Erie in the 39th District as they prepare to be sworn in. We discussed public safety, community trust & police-prosecutor partnerships. Shout-out to G. Lamar Stewart & his team!

The 35th Police District and Neighborhood Services Unit joined forces to clean up a major eyesore at 4600 N. 11th Street, removing abandoned vehicles and accumulated trash from the property.

Today, I pause to remember Chief Inspector Walter E. Smith, a remarkable leader whose influence continues to shape the way I lead.
I had the privilege of being his final direct report before his passing. He exemplified that leadership is never about rank. It’s about character!
