Axle CV boot replacement commencing… NOW. Super common issue on old G Wagons. I think this is an acceptable alternative to “touching grass” this weekend for me 🤔 AI and humans (YT) are both essential to this project!

@gildner I finally pulled the trigger on the project 🫣🫣 we’ll see what happens but so far it’s going well

I've been thinking a lot about client comms, and I love that @tobi coined slop grenade, because it represents something we're seeing more and more in our client engagements. Situations where clients have automated systems that they use to judge or monitor our work and then paste the output from the AI directly for us to address. Most of the time I'm skeptical they even read it. We then need to spend human hours responding to questions the client doesn't actually have and are generally missing context, incorrectly analyzed, or straight up irrelevant. I totally understand the desire to be on top of things. To solicit a second opinion on something you may not be fully informed on. Curiosity is good! We love questions from clients, and we love sharing our knowledge. But your AI monitoring and asking questions isn't curiosity, it's surveillance. Time spent on comms is up 40% over the last 6 months almost entirely due to my team having to take time to respond to slop grenades. The easy answer is "use AI to answer their AI" but at that point what are we even doing? What's the point? I'm strongly considering writing into our contracts that we will not respond or engage with raw AI outputs. If there are questions it prompts you to have and you share them, we're happy to address. But we're not going to go through and respond point by point to an 8 page report your AI generated that you didn't even read.

Also I randomly saw someone talking about how we’re all posting the 9 games that “stunted our growth” as an attempt to dig at video games, which is a hilarious take when many people I’ve seen post this are driven, successful people with a family, business, etc 😂

(Btw I don’t think you need those things to be “successful”, just that I’m looking at the measuring stick anti-video game people tend to use and saying many video gamers meet and exceed their own standards 🤷🏻‍♂️)

Any of my people here play Battlezone Combat Commander back in the day? That and the sequel were absolutely epic. I’d kill for those games to be made into Meta Quest VR!!

If you spent a decade building your PPC and business skills, then you spent 6 months building your PPC agent, then you regularly guide and re-prompt and keep the agent on the right track, then the agent isn't the key to your PPC success... it's you 🥰

This is especially important to understand for people who will try to replicate your agent. Even if you hand someone the prompts, if they don't have your skill and expertise, they won't build an agent as successfully as you... or at the very least, they can't upkeep it well.

One of the most real takes on AI I've seen lately is that it will drastically increase the gap between the haves and the have-nots, especially as usage costs inevitably rise.

Tired but happy after a day full of Google Marketing Live conversations. Had the privilege of joining 16 other PPCers brought in for NDA sessions with Google to help guide the future of Search as well as offer product feedback… and a private Maroon5 concert was pretty cool too!

How common is it for a dealer to sell a car out from under you when you had a mutually signed PO & were just waiting on them to get the title in (our bank wouldn’t cut a check until the out of state dealer had the title)? seems shady but I’m unsure if that’s relatively normal?

Can owning your warehouse slow growth 90%?! Shockingly, yes. Here's the details + 2 more crazy findings from my deep dive on 300 stores. Starting with the warehouse one because it floored me. If you owned your warehouse, your avg rev growth was 4%. If you leased or outsourced, growth was 30-35%. A 9x gap. Correlation, not causation. But I've heard from multiple owners who said "yep, that tracks." Once the warehouse pulls in your capital and attention, the growth side of the business quietly starves. Worth asking yourself honestly: is the warehouse serving the business, or the other way around? — Second one: the finance skill cliff. I asked owners to self-rate their financial literacy 1-5. As expected, the jump from 3/5 -> 4/5 improves. Net margins go from 8.9% to 9.7%. But the shocker? It's the jump from 4/5 (good) -> 5/5 (great) that has a massive impact. THAT jump doubles cash runway and meaningfully increases net income growth by close to 50%. (See chart below) 80/20 doesn't apply here. The last 20% is where the real money lives. If finance isn't your strength, this is probably the highest-ROI thing you can work on in 2026. — Third: tariffs. Of the brands impacted, they absorbed 58% of the cost themselves. For every $10 in new product cost, they only raised prices $4. It's why inflation came in lower than most predicted. It's also why a bunch of you are quietly eating margin right now and calling it a rough year. If you haven't seriously tested raising prices post-tariff, you're leaving a lot of money on the table. Scary? Yes. Also the single highest-leverage move most owners can make. —— The full 55-page Trends Report on the @ecomfuelco website now for more on these + much more.
