🕯 #OnThisDay in 1984, Father Jerzy Popiełuszko, a spiritual leader of Solidarity who preached non-violence and “overcoming evil with good,” was kidnapped and murdered by communist Security Service officers. Beatified in 2010, he remains a martyr for freedom and truth.
While visiting Dublin as part of the Irish Presidency of the Council of the EU, Minister of Education Barbara Nowacka also met at the Ambassador’s residence with directors of Polish schools and representatives of Polish-language teachers.
The exhibition on Casimir Markievicz, Constance Markievicz’s husband, opened at the Donegal County Museum in Letterkenny. Historical links between the Polish and Irish nations help to tighten bilateral ties and deepen mutual understanding.

Współtwórca polskiej szkoły filmowej, zdobywca Oscara, reżyser takich dzieł jak „Kanał”, „Popiół i diament”, „Ziemia obiecana” czy nagrodzony Złotą Palmą w Cannes „Człowiek z żelaza”, przez dekady kształtował polską kulturę, naszą wyobraźnię i sposób opowiadania o historii.
