At a Shareholders’ meeting today, the Premier League and our clubs continued discussions regarding a new strategic partnership with the EFL.
Since a fair and generous proposal was formally offered to the EFL last month, discussions have continued between the leagues’ Executives, and it was presented to EFL clubs last week.
The Premier League remains committed to concluding a football-led solution as soon as possible so additional money can flow to EFL clubs this season.

The whole game benefited from Derek’s work which spanned more than 20 years of service as head of the Independent Football Commission and the Independent Football Ombudsman.
The EFL is saddened to hear of the passing of Professor Derek Fraser, a distinguished figure who served as head of both the Independent Football Commission (IFC) from 2001 to 2008, and Independent Football Ombudsman (IFO) until 2022, devoting over 20 years to the game.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and worked with him.
