Thanks to Emilie Connolly (Yale History), who presented twice in @PIPECollab events yesterday: first on her recent book, Vested Interests, and second on new work on the Shawnee struggle to hold onto their land in Kansas in the 1850s and 1860s. @USCPrice

How can local government measure what matters most—not just the services it delivers, but whether residents’ lives are actually improving?
A new $1.5 million grant from The Haynes Foundation will help USC Price researchers put resident wellbeing at the center of how Los Angeles County measures its performance.
Led by Professor David Brady and Research Assistant Professor Jared Schachner, the team will work with residents, community stakeholders and county departments to develop a public-facing system tracking outcomes such as health, safety, economic security and housing stability.
