What a wonderful afternoon in Englewood! The Back to School Splash brought together families, children, community organizations, and local leaders for an afternoon filled with fun, food, music, swimming, games, and community spirit. Peace Islands Institute was proud to be a community partner alongside the City of Englewood Parks and Recreation, DCVYP, Bergen Family Center, and Embrace Relief in helping make this event possible. The event was centered around an important goal: making sure local students feel supported, prepared, and excited for the new school year. One of the highlights was the backpack giveaway, where Englewood students received backpacks filled with school supplies to help them start the year with confidence. We were honored to join local leaders, nonprofit organizations, faith communities, and families in celebrating Englewood’s diversity and investing in its youngest residents. Events like this remind us of the power of partnership, service, and community connection. A special thank you to everyone who contributed their time, resources, and energy to make the Back to School Splash such a success.
