I chairmanned GENCONs 8 & 9 at the Horticultural Hall in Lake Geneva. As I was going about my business at GENCON 9 I noted that the local ABC affiliate, Channel 12 out of Milwaukee, was setting up a camera in the court yard, and then I saw Gary walk to a reporter there, a blonde-haired woman. I angled over and stopped, off camera, to listen to the exchange. One of the most insightful exchanges was:
ABC12: "So do you really believe you are playing a wizard when playing the game [D&D]?"
Gary (quick retort): "Do you believe you are a slum lord when playing Monopoly?"
ABC12: (Silence)
It's Fantasy folks. It's not a therapy session nor a SJW group meeting. Fantasy is not real; but the exhilaration of participating in it, just like when we were kids listening to adults reading us bed time stories, that exhilaration is real.

Big soccer fan here, the way the two games differ in pace makes the OP's criticism invalid. @ScottHanson and team must cut into games based on set plays that are all occurring at different times. Soccer's action is more condensed making it easier to manage a multi-game format.

Do better people. These parks are a great privilege, not a right and certainly not YOUR personal garbage can.
Unfortunately our Rangers encounter garbage and broken/abandoned gear on almost every backcountry maintenance trip they do.
Remember: as park-lovers, it’s our responsibility to dispose of all our garbage items correctly and pack out what we pack in!
