Call for solidarity ✊ to support nail techs like Li and their co-workers, who still haven’t been paid! Over 10 nail technicians who worked for Nails Fix in the 6ix have been waiting months for the more than $70,000 they are collectively owed. This is #WageTheft and the Ontario Minister of Labour, Trevor Jones, is letting it happen. We need your help to stop it.

📣 Are you scheduled to work on election day in Ontario? Ontario's municipal elections 🗳️ are next week: Monday, October 26, 2026. Workers eligible to vote have the right to 3 consecutive hours off work to vote while polling stations are open. If you work on October 26 and don't have 3 hours off before polling stations close, you must be given paid time off to vote. While this time is typically at the start or end of your shift, your employer may decide which hours you take off to vote. 👉 Be sure to check your local municipal elections website to find out when your polls are open and to find a polling station near you. Questions about your rights on election day? Call the Workers’ Action Centre at (416) 531-0778 for free and confidential support. #MunicipalElections #Ontario

@BradMBradford & other Conservatives only quote the parts of the legislation that suit them. The Water & Wastewater Public Corporations Act lets a WWC issue shares & take on debt. A P3 can be appointed an "agent" to run a WWC & wring private profit out of public infrastructure.
This morning, environmental titan David Suzuki joined me in speaking about the risks to our safety and pocketbooks that come with Bradford’s proposal to privatize our water. I’m grateful to have David’s support. His decades of leadership on the environment remind us that protecting our water means protecting our communities and our environment for future generations. Our water should never be for sale.

It should be illegal for Israel’s top arms producer to purchase a Canadian company. Elbit Systems is complicit in the genocide of Palestinians. Cancel the Canada-Israel Free Trade Agreement, enact sanctions and a two-way arms embargo now.

From Professor Mira @sucharov, writing recently in the @globeandmail : "While it may be tempting to roll one of the organized Jewish community’s stated beliefs into the way the Canadian government understands Jew hatred, conflating anti-Zionism with antisemitism is a grave mistake. Like so many other scourges, such as Islamophobia, racism, homophobia, misogyny and so on, antisemitism is a form of bigotry. The Charter of Rights and Freedoms is clear on this: No one shall be discriminated against based on “race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age or mental or physical disability.” But even though many Jews experience Zionism as a core part of their religious or ethnic identity, Zionism is fundamentally a political ideology. All political ideologies – especially ones that are linked to actual state structures, as Zionism is – should be subject to critique. Opposing Zionism, therefore, is no different from opposing other governing ideologies like communism, capitalism, socialism or Islamism." theglobeandmail.com/gift/5b2…

If supervision is so great, why is everything getting worse at supervised boards? This Minister is out of control and families deserve better. Our kids can’t get this time back. Why is @fordnation allowing Calandra to neglect our kids and our schools? #onted #onpoli

~40% of Ontario families are being denied our locally elected trustees whose job it is to advocate for our kids in our communities. As Calandra has taken away all financial responsibility from trustees, there is no excuse for continued supervision. What is going on? #onted
NEW: The Ford government says trustees in supervised school boards “will not be sworn in” immediately after next week's election. The province is asserting its power to call meetings in eight boards and trustees will only take their oath when the meeting is officially called. No timeline for when that will happen. globalnews.ca/news/12108029/… #onpoli

Macron’s empty speech did nothing to quell the uprising in France. After a record mobilization of 700,000 protesters the Yellow Vest movement has announced Act II of its revolution this Saturday, October 24th. Workers of the world, rise up. The time for revolution is now!

For a second week we are at Nails Fix in the Six in #Scarborough and #Leslieville to demand they pay up! Over 10 nail technicians who worked for the salon are collectively owed more than $70,000. Despite several orders to pay from the Ontario Ministry of Labour, not a single cent has been paid. #StopWageTheft
