From Downing Street to Conference Hall in Liverpool an honour to be there to hear @andyburnham lay out his vision with emotion and determination. A patriotic case for what we can achieve together, not based around narrow nationalisms but rather the ties; the hope that binds us ❤️

Andy and I will be working together in the years ahead to deliver hope again for Scotland. Good to chat last night about his speech today and plans for the weeks ahead.
Excellent first speech to Conference by my friend and our leader @michaeljmarra
It is time to be clear what we are for not just what we are against.
It’s time to give people hope again.
Joyous morning kicking off #Lab26 with Christians on the Left at our annual Sunday Service. Hope, compassion, justice. The call to serve, the chance for change. So grateful to this amazing team and partners for making it all possible ❤️

The Government’s response to the 1,133 Scottish lives lost to drugs has been a disgrace. Families are grieving.
We need an urgent change of course.
Me to husband: “there’s a massive spider on the floor” (size of a hand 🤣)
Husband: “Och just leave him, he means no harm, he’ll wander off to a dark space”
Me this morning: “I had a dream that spider was on me in the night”
Husband: “that wasn’t a dream…”
😱😱😵💫😵💫 NOPE.
Delighted to meet @PresidentIRL (2nd time but on home turf in her 1st 🏴 visit)
I was honoured to be in small delegation to Leeds in May on her first GB visit
We discussed Good Friday Agreement & education for reconciliation. Great to expand on these themes with her in Glasgow
An oldie but a goodie from when we were not long elected! 📸
Congratulations to my friend @michaeljmarra on his emphatic election as leader of @ScottishLabour
He will bring compassion and decency; listening and facing up to the challenges ahead.
With all and for all ❤️
I literally have a plastic radial head joint due to a Scottish Labour leadership announcement - there’s a fun fact for you all as we wait this morning 🤣

Taoiseach Micheal Martin has suggested Sinn Fein has set back the cause of Irish unity by aligning itself with the SNP and Plaid Cymru.
"I would make the point that strategically we have never embroiled Northern Ireland in British politics."
Good time to reshare piece by @petermacmahon from May. Identity can't just be painted in primary colours with parallels drawn in completely different context. It's extremely complex, nowhere more so than on island of Ireland in still fragile path of peace. thetimes.com/uk/scotland/art…
