It was an honor to join the Global Women Leaders Summit hosted by @giwps.

Delighted to join insightful conversations at @SalzburgGlobal!
It was a priviledge to share some thoughts on leadership, international law, and multilateralism across two inspiring sessions.
Rules matter because power asymmetry is real.

A highly welcome development announced today by @PattiHarris, CEO of @BloombergDotOrg: a new $260 million commitment to expand the Bloomberg Ocean Initiative.
With the High Seas Treaty (BBNJ) now in force, the international community must now turn its attention to…
…implementation, ensuring that this unprecedented framework to protect marine biodiversity beyond national jurisdictions delivers meaningful impact.
By supporting the expansion of marine protected areas, strengthening fisheries management, protecting critical ecosystems…
…and empowering local and Indigenous communities, this commitment will help translate global ambition into tangible results for our ocean.

At #ZeroWasteForum2026, I joined a timely exchange on how zero waste can help close the climate implementation gap and translate commitments into concrete action. It offers a practical pathway to advance climate ambition while delivering tangible local benefits.
Looking ahead to #COP31, I underscored the importance of scaling practical, cooperative solutions that turn ambition into implementation. #ZeroWaste can support local resilience while advancing global climate goals.
The Caribbean continues to lead by example in the fight against climate change. I joined #SustainabilityWeek2026 in Barbados, where public and private sector leaders discussed scaling climate finance, mobilizing private capital, and advancing a sustainable transition.
As #COP30 Brazil Special Envoy for Latin America and the Caribbean, I reaffirmed that sustainability is not a constraint on development; it is the pathway to resilient, competitive, and inclusive growth. Grateful to all partners working to turn ambition into action.
Sustainability is increasingly becoming a defining factor for long-term competitiveness, resilience and economic stability. In a more uncertain global context, viewing sustainability as a long-term investment is no longer optional, but strategic.
In this article for @emglobales, I share some reflections on why sustainability must be understood not only as an environmental responsibility, but as part of how countries, institutions and businesses prepare for the future.
