bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c574… Time to deploy the military to tackle the looters and those looking to kill police officers. Let’s hope those committing riot are identified quickly. Once you cross that line you must face severe consequences. Thoughts with the injured officers

Disgusting scumbags 🤬🤬 This bunch of yobs don’t have 1% of the courage the courageous men and women who kept our country safe did in its darkest hour had. Shame on them all. I’d have personally ordered their removal pronto if I’d been in attendance. No respect .@ukhomeoffice

**Message of the day** This is why sticking together at ALL times is vital .@MetTaskforce .@Cole_Jim_1 as we know. In large scale PO you can get cut off if you switch off or get red mist. Training and good experienced supervisors is absolutely vital. .@PoliceChiefs 👍🏼

The hijacker (and co-pilot) on board FZ1073 stabbed Cpt Smit Machchhar, an Indian national during the flight, but the Captain heroically managed to open the cockpit door before collapsing. His quick thinking saved over 170 lives today and enabled the passengers to subdue the terrorist as he was attempting to crash the plane. Wishing him a full recovery and sending our thanks on behalf of Israel!

Thanks to fans of @Boro and @WBA for this incredible show of support prior to their match this afternoon, in memory of Matt and Tom. Our thanks also to Hartlepool and Eastleigh for similarly remembering our colleagues before the fixture last night.

Seven people, including two police officers, died in the horrific Middlesbrough crash. We’re still learning the full details. Twelve people have been arrested in relation to organised crime and the crash. I have to point out, however, that 4 of the 5 people in the car driving the wrong way down the A66 - the car that killed the two police officers - had prior criminal convictions. In fact, they had 37 prior convictions between them. For drugs offences, stealing cars, racial abuse, assaulting police officers, and knife possession. It’s not clear that any has served a single day in prison. Two police officers are dead. PC Blades, a loved husband and father to two young boys. This year, he was going to coach his son’s football team. And PC Tom Clough, a former soldier who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. His family described him as “our hero.” I for one am angry. Angry at the gangsters, and yes also their minions, who terrorise the rest of us and get away with it. And angry at our leaders for failing us, and making our police officers’ lives a living hell. I promise you this. Reform UK will end this carnage. We will restore law and order in this country.

Why should you sign PC Harper’s petition? Because this is how two of his killers behaved when they received their sentences. Laughing and joking about killing a Police Officer. Absolutely disgusting. Thank you so, so much for signing and sharing the petition. #ThinBlueLine 🚨

BREAKING - The @metpoliceuk have warned of a spate of job cuts, with potentially 1,000 roles needed to go, as the Deputy Commissioner raises alarms over a gap in the forces funding. A letter, which the Daily Express has seen, warned of "serious and immediate financial challenges". express.co.uk/news/politics/…

This says it all, how about cutting some of the highest paid senior officers to keep officers on the ground. I never had any idea why we had so many commanders DAC’s and AC’s. Surely these ranks need cutting before the frontline.

Hi! @MarksLarks 👋🏻 Been made aware by friends that you’ve reposted my post on the Armed Policing conundrum posed by No. 10 North on @LinkedIn 👀 Firstly thank you. Secondly, would you mind crediting me? I wrote it and you’ve used my watermarked photo too…😅 #ThinBlueLine 🚨
The other notable difference for the Policing Operation at Number 10 North is that GMP don’t have AFOs, only ARV and Specialist Officers. For the uninitiated, AFOs (Authorised Firearms Officers) make up PaDP (Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection), RaSP (Royalty and Specialist Protection) and SO18 (Aviation Policing) in The Met completing a five week course. They carry both a rifle and sidearm and are trained in foot based tactics to defend specific sites and persons. For example Downing Street, Buckingham Palace and Heathrow Airport. MO19 however is made up of ARV (Armed Response Vehicle) Officers who pass a much harder 12 week course (including vehicle tactics hence the name). 19 also compromises CTSFOs (Counter Terrorism Specialist Firearms Officers) whose training takes months and compromise standby and deployable Immediate Response Teams for high risk situations. The Met has evolved this way to meet the demand of all of the different types of armed Policing the capital requires. GMP only has ARV Officers (and some CTSFOs) to fulfil a role that would normally be undertaken by an AFO and as such, deploying ARV Officers in an AFO role is either removing an ARV from patrol in Manchester or costing a lot in overtime at Number 10 North to fulfil the armed Policing requirement. It’ll be interesting to see how and if this changes as these meetings no doubt become more common place. #ThinBlueLine 🚨

I wasn’t there, however this guy was: "I’d like to put the record straight, because I was there. People often forget how the Argentine troops were treated after the Falklands War. We treated their wounded, and many would not have survived without the medical care they received. They were fed, and their officers were even allowed to keep their sidearms for their own safety. After facing each other in battle, that wasn’t easy, but it was the right thing to do. They were fed, cared for, and many were transported home on Canberra. We also cleaned up the mess that had been left behind. There was no complaining—we just got on with the job. Many of the Argentine troops were exhausted and relieved to be going home after experiencing the reality of war. They were defeated and demoralised, and many couldn’t even look you in the eye. Many of those young soldiers were more afraid of their own officers and the military junta than they were of us. They had been sent into an impossible situation by leaders who would never share their hardships. The Falklands’ climate and terrain are brutal, and the weather is unforgiving. I saw young men who were hungry, frightened, dirty, wet and cold, longing to be back with their families in Argentina. Many I spoke to, while sharing hot drinks and sweets, told me they never wanted to be there in the first place. So before anyone starts abusing me, my family or my brothers-in-arms, remember this: we were there. We experienced the full cycle of war, and we also witnessed the immense relief of the Falkland Islanders when the invaders finally left. To those in Argentina who still believe the stories told by defeated generals, I’d simply say this: many of us were there, and we know what happened. Don’t confuse propaganda with the reality witnessed by those who fought and those who surrendered. The war is over. Britain won. History cannot be changed. It’s time to stop reliving old arguments and instead focus on building a better future for the people of Argentina rather than making repeated claims over the Falkland Islands. As my grandmother used to say, “Children should be seen and not heard.” Sometimes it’s wiser to listen to those who were actually there. War tests not only courage in battle, but also humanity in victory. I am proud that we showed both. Feel free to share and comment “war is not a political football “ maybe you should try it sometime it’s not advisable Lives broken families destroyed Respect to those lost to war and those who are still fighting a war long ago." Shared as requested. Falklands #FalklandsWar #veterans
