Lula vs. Bolsonaro: I was held in solitary confinement for 1,901 days for revealing the truth about the U.S. government's killings and espionage, including against Brazil and its industries. Out of power, Lula fought for my freedom. In power, Lula discussed my persecution with Pope Francis, who decided to meet with my family and offer help. After my release, Lula and I met in Rome to mourn the Holy Father's passing. Lula was kind to my children and asked for nothing in return. In contrast, Jair and FlƔvio Bolsonaro did nothing and said nothing. Yet without the ability to say no to Washington and Tel Aviv, there can be no domestic policy, only foreign instructions. Those orders are always the same: "Expand our theft of resources and wages, and keep your mouths shut about us murdering children." Sellouts will surrender everything in exchange for a cut, even their own tongues.

I would argue that Israeli soldiers are a legitimate target for the occupied Palestinian people, anywhere and at any time.
Some would disagree.
But Israeli soldiers on duty in the West Bank are a legitimate target beyond any legal doubt.
Don't believe old media.

As long as sustenance can come from killing and stealing resources from a far away land, or some manufactured caricature of some enemy, people are fine pretending they live in a democracy and everything will be ok. They fear what dealing with the system that creates these scenarios means as it brings the fight home instead of "over there, over there"... they turn a blind eye to how impoverished countries can somehow send raw materials to HMS xyz or to the US or to some other Global North entity. When you stop normalizing the evils the system is designed to manufacture, regardless of puppets at the top, you begin to realize that the pathways to change are not going to be found within the systems that create them. It takes courage moreso than knowledge. Though knowledge is the key to opening courage to the possibilities, courage is needed to face the actual demons that will defend the current order.

Just one problem; Chris inadvertently linked to an imposter account. Mine is @profstevekeen.
A video on this topic is going up tonight (Sunday 25th October)
Excellent insights by @SteveKeenEcon on the systemic flaws behind the current crisis in France and across Europe.
His four "heretical" conclusions to end Europe's decline are:
1ļøā£ Abolish the Euro and return to national currencies.
2ļøā£ Run government deficits to create fiat money.
3ļøā£ Use those deficits to fully fund public education and infrastructure.
4ļøā£ Restrict private debtāthe true trigger of economic collapse.

President Dwight Eisenhower in his farewell address:
āWe must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence of the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists.ā
The warning was ignored, and now Washingtonās empire stretches around the globe, profiteering off of endless war and destruction.
Congress and the Presidency have been bought by the military-industrial complex, and while American cities decline, the military budget balloons, and one war after another is lined up on Washingtonās conveyor belt of death.
Andy Schectman: The military-industrial complex has HELD DOWN SILVER prices to build WEAPONS
āThe military-industrial complex, if I had to guess, would be the ones that have held down silver forever. Thereās massive amounts of silver in high-tech weaponry, like the Tomahawk cruise missile, like F-35s, like stealth bombers, and itās not just in the United States; itās sold all throughout the Western edifice through NATO. They need tremendous amounts of silver.
Itās not even about the price getting away from them that theyāre concerned about. Itās that rising price creates too much demand. People will run to the assets that are taking off in price. And so they suppress the price in order to build high-tech weaponry.
JP Morgan, who paid a $920 million fine to the Justice Department, the largest they ever handed out for manipulating the metals market, somehow is the custodian of the worldās largest silver trust, SLV. There is no question in my mind but that it is the Western military-industrial complex that has tried forever to hold it down.'

Keynes' General Theory may contain some dated concepts, but from cover to cover, it's still the greatest book on macroeconomics ever written.
Not because everything in it is correct, but because it forces you to fucking think.
Which probably explains why libertarians hate it.

Jewish history in Palestine does not grant any "rights", Ben.
And, look up "indigenous" in any dictionary.
Indigenous people are the people living in a place when outside colonizers come and push them aside, kill them, destroy their society. Jews have long history in Palestine, but are not "indigenous" there.
Why do you have such an obsession with Jews? I actually don't get it. I wish you'd stop already. You're giving us a bad name.
I was standing in a room full of Jews who constantly have the indigenous and historical rights of the Jewish people to that land called into question. Unless your conception of respect for indigenous rights to their land is selective, and only applies to certain people and in certain cases, surely you have no problem with this. But you couldnāt possibly be that type of person, right?

The reason we know Israel is the primary cause of destabilisation in the Middle East is that this is explicitly the reason the United States props it up ā it is an imperial outpost for resource extraction and political suppression before it is anything else

The fallacy is that the UK Jews are not represented by the organizations you're referring to. The organizations you're referring to do not represent them.
The Jewish population is comprised of regular citizens who practice the Jewish religion (or don't). We don't have organizations to represent our political opinions. Such organizations are made by Zionists, mostly for the sake of promoting Zionism. Not because the Zionists "hijacked" them, but because we have no reason, as a community, to make them. Zionists do.
ADL is the USA, the Board of Deputies in UK, and other such "Jewish organizations" are designed to promote Zionism. They don't do much else. By all means, hold them accountable. But their propositions are their own. Nobody (except maybe them) claims they are a representative sample and certainly not representatives of the Jewish population in which they are located.

Iām tired of saying this, but if she was Jewish youād already know her story because the @nytimes would cover it.

Heartbreaking. Heartbreaking. Heartbreaking.
Eight-year-old Fatima Hisham al-Bayook has succumbed to her injuries after being struck by an Israeli bullet a few days ago east of Deir al-Balah, Gaza.
There had been desperate pleas for her urgent medical evacuation in the hope of saving her life.
After contacting her family, I can also confirm that Fatimaās mother and two younger siblings were killed in an Israeli strike on December 13, 2023.
Her siblings were Leen, a baby less than a year old, and Asaad, just three years old.
Israelās terror and the systematic destruction of Palestinian families continue to unfold before the eyes of the world.
Remember their names.
