Allied Peoples Movement (APM) Diaspora

Today’s commissioning of our campaign office in Abuja is another step towards our goal to build a country that works for every Nigerian under the Reset Nigeria Agenda. Let me take this opportunity to thank everyone who was a part of the event including my brother, HE Peter Obi. As I said in my remarks, the opposition must work together in the forthcoming 2027 election.

Congratulations to all leaders of our party, the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) who were elected at today’s National Conventions. I especially wish to congratulate my brother, HE Bala Mohammed who emerged the national leader of APM today. Let me use this opportunity to once again, thank the good people of Bauchi State who graciously hosted all of us from different parts of Nigeria today. We appreciate your warm welcome and support!

Today, we met with representatives of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) and Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), who led a protest to the Oyo State Secretariat Agodi, Ibadan. After listening to their concerns, I assured them that government at the national, State and local levels are working together to ensure the safe return of our children and teachers who were abducted in Oriire LGA. I said that we will continue to prioritise the safety and well-being of residents of our dear State, and that we are open to feedback regarding the security of Oyo State.

Therefore, today, I, Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, announce my candidacy for the position of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under the PDP/APM Alliance.

The forum gave us an opportunity to discuss salient national issues on the state of the nation, security concerns and the erosion of democratic principles by the ruling APC. We also deliberated on the upcoming national convention of our great party. We implore members and supporters of our great party to remain steadfast as we reposition the PDP as the best option for our dear nation.

Let me once again thank my brother, HE Dr @daudalawal_, for graciously hosting the PDP Governors’ Forum in Gusau, this weekend. I also appreciate the good people of Zamfara State for their warm hospitality.

As we celebrate 26 years of continuous democracy, let us remember that power resides with us, the people. Wishing all Nigerians a Happy Democracy Day!

Happy birthday to my darling Ominini. Wishing you a day filled with joy, laughter and love. May God's blessings, guidance and protection continue to abide with you today and always.

This evening, we were at the opening of Bankyloolas Mobile and Pasta Pan in Oluyole, Ibadan. In my remarks, I encouraged the entrepreneurial spirit behind the brand as one of the three things (along with education and intensive production) that we need in Nigeria right now to drive economic growth. I also said they should think globally not just locally or nationally using the example of Nandos which originated in South Africa.

We also inspected the ongoing upgrade of the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport to an international airport. Work is progressing on the new terminal building and the expansion of the runway to accommodate bigger aircraft.

Earlier today, we inspected the ongoing construction of the 110 km Rashidi Ladoja Circular Road. The bridges and interchanges for the 32.2 km South East Wing have already been completed and the road construction is progressing as scheduled. This part will be ready before the end of the year. The North East Wing of about 36 km is currently being cleared.

In my newsletter today, I talked about the need for right-thinking members of society to take a stand against the illegal suspension of elected officials in the executive and legislative arms of government as part of a state of emergency declared by the president in Rivers State.
